Don't even think about buying a cheaper product. This will last a lifetime. It feels great in the hand, it's sturdy and strong, and does its job faultlessly. I've used it on rugs as well as towels (for dog hairs) and it performs exceptionally well. I searched long and hard before purchasing, coming to the conclusion that other cheaper versions would not perform nearly as well and fall apart sooner than later. This is money well spent.

At £29.75 this beater may come across as a bit steep, but it makes up for this with quality. It has a very rigid, robust build and is highly recommended.

Needed something to beat a long haired rug as I have a dyson which you can't use on it. Work brilliantly

Oooh, the responsibility of being the first to review! I wanted a rug / carpet beater similar to those I remember from my childhood - practical, natural, sturdy, beautifully made and this ticks all the boxes. The length of it suits me, long enough to get a good hit on my dog rugs and carpets. I thought it was a great price and it was here in no time, albeit in an unnecessarily large box with masses of paper (all recyclable) which doesn't detract from my 5 star rating. So, in my humble opinion, go for it!

My mother has a very old carpet beater which works really well to beat the dust out of rugs, cushions etc. I had hoped that this one would be up to the same standard as the one mum owns, but sadly it’s just not as sturdy or well made. I have my doubts that it will last as long as hers (it’s over 40 years old). Fingers crossed that I will be proved wrong.

We bought this item to beat clean our sheepskin rugs due to the difficulty in cleaning them with a vacuum cleaners. The carpet beater does a sterling job in removing the surprising amount of dust, dirt and debris from the rugs that the vacuum cleaner had obviously failed to do. It is also very therapeutic to give the rugs a damn good thrashing.

Well made ~ easy to use natural product

I bought this to beat the dust out of our woollen fleece under blanket which cannot be washed or dry cleaned. Vacuum cleaning tends to pull the fleece from its backing so needed something other than just shaking and airing it. It was heavy and sturdy enough to really hit the blanket hard and I certainly managed to shift some dust. As I have only done this once so far, I can not comment on how long it will stand up to this usage so the four stars refer to the fact that I cannot comment on longevity rather than any immediate failures.
