Bought this because I was unable to find any 2 slice toaster that accepts Warburtons Toastie or other large loaves. This toaster, having two double-length slots, does take over-sized bread. It has lots of pretty lights when in operation and it is easy to use and easy to clean. It does have 2 faults though:- Firstly if you only want to cook one slice of toast, you can’t heat only one slot at a time, you have to have both turned on together. Secondly, the exterior walls of the toaster get hot. It is NOT a “cool touch” toaster. However, it does toast bread more evenly and more reliably than any other toaster I have used in the last 40 years! And I guess you can’t have everything.

I was dubious about spending so much on a toaster, but this Sage wide-slot toaster does seem worth it. The crumpet and fruit bread settings work well, and the visual timer and lift to check features are actually quite useful. Toasting seems to be quite even, and the 30 second "extra" time is useful as you don't have to change the timer or re-press any settings to get a bit more brown on your bread (I like dark toast). The wide slots are handy for that occasional odd-shape bread, eg. French stick cut lengthways to make big slices of toast. Oh, and although a little longer than my older toaster, it is narrow enough to make less of an impact on work surface space. I have two criticisms. One is that the pop up is not high enough for smaller things like crumpets and you still have to reach in to get them out even on full lift. The second is that the crumb tray is, like most other toasters, too shallow for my liking. Pulling the tray out can sometimes end up in distributing crumbs all over the work surface.

I like SAGE. Always bought my kitchen appliances from them. Almost all my kit has been really long wearing and reliable. It was only just recently my old toaster from Sage stopped working on one side. This new toaster is very good but i did trade off some features for others. I love the fact this toaster can take those really long slices of bread you get nowadays ... but there's no more 'toast from Frozen' button. Most of the other features are here though. I also like the steel /aluminium effect. I'd recommend the appliances but they are expensive.

A fussy, slow to toast toaster. The slots are too small for normal sized bread. It failed irreparably after exactly 3 years so £1 per week for the privilege of ownership of this overpriced piece of rubbish. Oh, and don't expect any sort of helpful response from Sage "customer service", they are even more useless than the toaster.

I call it the Ferrari of toasters. This has been one of the best purchases of the year. Even toast, perfect fortoasring sourdough bread, naan bread or any rustic loaf thats bigger than the standard square slice. Looks the part as well, and you can see a timer of how long it'll take to toast (super useful)

It looks ok but when it comes to toasting (artisan sourdough) it’s nothing special. True, a whole slice fits no problem, but it tends to over toast around the outside leaving the bread core underdone. And 2 slices of standard bread don’t fit side by side in a slot…the tops stick out and don’t get toasted. My old toaster did a better job but I had to cut slices in half. This does a whole slice without cutting but not terribly well. Over promises and under provides sadly. I will keep it. Would I buy it again?….no I don’t think so…mind you I couldn’t find anything better based upon reviews. Shame.

it doesn’t toast the bread evenly. the crust will be burnt before the crumb getting any color! i had another toaster that does much better for a fraction of the price.

Great toaster - I don’t understand negative reviews. Had it a few weeks now and very happy with it, toasts evenly, fitting two slice in each slot. I’d definitely recommend.

Returned it the day it arrived as it was faulty. A number of the heating elements inside the toaster were not heating up, resulting in unevenly toasted bread. Very annoying and shocking quality control for such an expensive product.
