Live Bearded® Beard Butter, 1880, Bourbon, Bitters, Citrus, 3 fl oz

Having tried plenty of different beard butters and balms I have to say this one is probably my favorite. It leaves my beard feeling soft, with no greasy sheen; giving the beard a nice matte finish. It provides a very mild hold which is just enough to tame the occasional wild hair but isn't enough to leave it stiff or unnatural looking. I absolutely love the American scent. I've entertained trying some of the other scents, as they have several that I'm sure I would like, but I just love that cedar/vetiver combination. It's not too strong but it does last throughout the day and I can still smell it in the evening.

Live Bearded Beard Butter is in my top 5, likely top 3 Beard butters. This is an essential part of my daily beard routine that I cannot go without. Price is great, quality is there, great scent no matter what you choose. This product is not greasy and adds great moisture that keeps a dry beard at bay. I do recommend re-applying midday but maybe half or slightly less of what you used on the initial application. One of the nice things is that it melts in your hands pretty quickly, allowing for ease of application and even distribution throughout your beard. Using several different styles of beard butters over the years, I find this one to be very effective for the price. I prefer to buy local but quality is so consistent with this brand that it's hard to stray too far.

Most "unscented" items still have a smell, maybe it's the base ingredients or some extremely scientific chemistry explanation as to why, I don't really know. What I do know is that this says unscented, and it IS unscented. That right there makes me want to buy more of it. It's light to the touch, not too greasy, and my beard feels soft.

It works and smells nice. The texture seems slightly less pliable than their Hinoki Cypress, Clove and Amber scent. By the way Live Bearded's Hinoki Cypress, Clove and Amber is a definite 5 star product in my book.

First time using this product, first purchase from Live Bearded... First of all, shipping times are inaccurate - it arrived a week early! Scent: The scent of the butter is light but noticeable - and has lasted through the day. Very clean and masculine smell, not as strong as the Art of Shaving Sandalwood - for some that may detract from the Legend, but not for me. In essence (haha), the scent will be with you all day, but won't be with everyone else in the room. Control/Texture: (of a 2.5 month old, washed daily, lightly trimmed beard that grows curly, thick/stubborn hair that has a tendency to tangle) Compared to Billy Jealousy's "Beard Control" Leave-In Conditioner, The Legend blows it away. The Jealousy works well for control and smell in the morning, but by the afternoon things are unkempt and residue-y despite my best efforts. Had been using Jealousy for about 1 month. Again - I will update this review in a few weeks, but initial thoughts are: wow. This is a game changer - beard looks and feels smooth, not greasy, and of natural color. It's pliable - didn't need to, but tested slightly messing the hair, then combing using a pocket beard comb: back looking like it did in the morning. Overall, very happy with this purchase! Great value for the price, and the company appears to be honest and focused on customers returning to their product line.

This beard butter is an excellent consistency. It is definitely sufficient for softening my beard and moisturizing the skin. It's not super greasy, but also has a light hold. There is plenty of product that will last me a long time and therefore, I consider the value to be good for the price point. However, I am not a huge fan of the scent. It states it should smell like sweet tobacco and cedar, but it honestly seems to smell more like bubble gum to me. I kissed my wife this morning after applying it and she said I smelled like Big League Chew bubble gum! Haha. That aside, I'm pleased, but it's a rather scent-heavy product so with it being a scent that isn't quite what I had in mind, I'm a little disappointed. I'd like to try another scent from the same brand next time.

I have a medium sized beard trimmed to a beard setting of 6, so not very long. I’ve tried several balms, creams, and oils to reduce the dry, scratchy feeling that often comes with beard growth. After plenty of trial and error, I’ve found that Viking Revolution Beard Oil paired with this beard butter provides the best combination of softness, moisture, and overall comfort. My beard feels noticeably smoother, and the irritation has been significantly reduced. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to improve beard softness and manageability.
