How do I remove the cup

Sliding down, it may be a little tight

it needs a battery or not ?

It is charged with a USB charger. The cord is included but you need the plug (like a cell phone charger)

Is my new charger defective? Never used, charged til green light came, which took all day. In the morning when I wanted to use it , the light was red.

In addition, it has been charging all day and still read light. Is this not defective?

The indicator light is red when charging, and it will be green when it is full. It means the prompt is full. This is not a defect. If it is off, you will not be able to check if it is fully charged.
