I purchased this product to give my 5 yr old son one of his own instead of him working on my painting. It was definitely something that kept him from my painting and it was good for when he got upset- he would go work on this for a few minutes and then he was okay. It's very relaxing

Turned out precious but an adult who likes detail like me (former accountant) must complete it. Too hard for a child. I actually enjoyed it but a lot of people wouldn’t!

If it weren't for the black speckles of.. ink (I'm guessing), this would be five stars. Honestly, I should've given 2-3 stars, but I'm being fair. The stickiness is great, the gems are beautiful, the image is nice, and everything was packaged nicely. The only thing I didn't like is the black speckles. I don't know if it's ink or charcoal, but it smears, and it prevents the gem from sticking on.I wasn't too upset at first as I noticed most of the spots would be covered by a gem or cut off, but while working on this the first time, I realized the gems won't stay on and some areas aren't supposed to be covered. As this was a gift, and practically the only Mario diamond painting kit for kids, I'm quite upset.In the end, I just asked for a refund instead of a second replacement. I'll try to improvise with the replacement (which was worse) and maybe find some spare black gems to make an outline on the outside instead.I'm sharing to give others a heads up, specifically for the Mario one. Other then the speckles, I give 5/5 stars. I usually never have issues with these diamond painting kits.

This is a great kit because of the bright colors and fun Mario design. Great for teens or adults. I also really like that it comes with the frame so you can finish your product right away and display it. It is small enough that you can get it done in a day or a few hours. There are some bigger accent stones included which add to the attractiveness of the design. Completed product would be a great gift for a Mario fan. The Kit includes everything you need to complete the picture. if you cannot do it in one sitting you will want to have a way to store the loose diamonds after you open the packages; however product is such that you can finish or work on one color at a time and avoid hassle of storing the diamond drills

My kids like this kind of project, and can stay focused on it for about an hour. This particular one has a very large amount of beads to place and is very heavy on the fine motor content, so it took them several days to make a dent in it. I would not recommend this for any child under 7 because it requires a lot of patience and a steady hand. My youngest lost interest before completing the picture even though he is a huge Mario fan. There are just too many beads and it took too long for him. Kids older than 8 might fare better keeping their eyes on the prize, because they are faster and the payoff of the end product is really cool and motivating. It comes with a frame so it looks “official” and makes them feel like real artists. My oldest said the project was relaxing and enjoyed finishing it when the younger one did not want to continue. Like any of these little stick the beads to a pattern projects, kids have to be very careful not to spill the tray, and the application tool occasionally needs more stickiness to work, which is easily fixed by stamping it into the little red square of stickiness that comes with it. It’s a great project for rainy days and I’m all for anything that keeps them off the screens, but this one is quite a bit of work so that can be a good thing or not so much depending on the individual. For my kids it filled a few hours with fun and the the last hour or so was more of a work task where they were determined to finish, which is also valuable for kids in my opinion.
