Magnolia Parks (The Magnolia Parks Universe)

Oh, how my blood pressure went up reading this book! There was a point, about 120 pages or so in, that I had to cut away and read another book to calm my nerves. Then, in a maneuver to avoid it further, I found another book to read. After 2 in-between reads, I reluctantly ventured back into Magnolia Parks. It was a forced endeavor. And once I picked it back up, I couldn't put it back down. The impact of this book will sneek up on you with a high you won't feel coming, but you'll enjoy the heck out of it the second it kicks in. It's euphoric. I've never read a book quite like this. It frustrated me in the best way. It made my plams sweaty and my nerves scorch. This is only book 1 in a 5 book (thus far) series! What the heck did I get myself into?!?! Whatever it is - I'M IN! Holy jeez, is this a ride! The toxicity that is Magnolia and BJ is addictive, heartbreaking, and utterly maddening. Jessa Hastings is a masterful author/ storyteller. Her writing is supreme. The humor is top-tier. Her character dialog is spectacular. For as much as I wanted to SCREAM (and pull out some of my hair) while reading this - I also, enthusiastically, want to jump with joy in gratitude that this book exists.

This was a 4 for me. Definitely worth adding to TBR, but it DOES end in a heavy cliffhanger, so be prepared. The plot was great and I did t see a lot of things coming so it keeps you engaged and really interested. Small reasons it was not a 5: - some errors throughout - enough that it caught my attention - there were parts where I had trouble following the dialogue slightly based on the writing style. Like I was t 100% sure who was saying what and I had to reread a few parts. Also the texts back and forth - I read in Kindle so maybe different in print, but there were a few where I had to decipher who was who. - for the amount of sex some of the characters are having, the book was a heavy fade to black in terms of romance, which was fine. But there was also (I think) only 1 reference to protection, which is kind of important t to some of the plot times, without giving anything away. It frustrated me that this wasn’t addressed at all.

Let me start by saying this book is well written and definitely intriguing—it was on my mind all day even when I wasn’t reading it and even when I started to hate it. That being said, every character in this book is toxic. There are no redeeming characters. And I’m sorry, but this book idolizes codependent and toxic relationships and it made me so angry how un-self-aware the MCs were. Like they all have money for therapy and not a single one speaks to a therapist ever?? And you can’t tell me they didn’t know because they talk about ducks having therapy in the book…like come on. Just no. I like the FMC alright but the MMC doesn’t do it for me at all. I don’t think I’ll continue the series.

This is just for receiving the book. I was so happy to get the collector edition at a sale price. It is absolutely beautiful, so glad I waited. Now it’s time to start reading it!

I have never hated someone and liked someone so much. Bj. I literally devoured this story. Like a train wreck you can’t look away from happening. I loved it because it kept me so invested. But godddddd do I want to slap some people. Magnolia was a little annoying and Tom England is the real mvp. Ughhhbi want to punch a wall but I loved reading it.

Ok first let me say at 10% in I have never wanted to DnF a book so fast and so bad!!! I have never read a book where the characters are soooo toxic for each other and clearly need to stay away from each other especially if the man you’re in love with can’t stop sleeping around smh. But after looking at booktok and bookstagram and seeing how hyped this series is, I powered through.. it actually took me way longer to finish this than it should. In the beginning, it was slow and all the back and forth between Magnolia and BJ was too much. Then in comes Mr. Tom I liked him soooo much and really thought he was good for Magnolia and I hoped with all my heart she was going to drop BJ for Tom even after everything he did but nooooooo. Then when I got to the last 2 chapters O M GEEEE… I don’t want to spoil it but daaaaannng that reveal I’m not gonna lie was good and also not a surprise. I hope now that everything is out in the open she can finally be done but we will see. I need a break before I read the next book that was a lot!!

Die Geschichte ist spannend und voller Emotionen, und die Charaktere sind so lebendig und vielschichtig, dass ich sofort in ihr Leben eintauchen konnte. Magnolia ist eine faszinierende Protagonistin, deren Höhen und Tiefen ich mit großer Neugier verfolgt habe. Die Erzählweise ist packend, und die Beziehungen zwischen den Figuren sind authentisch und oft überraschend. Die Mischung aus Drama, Romantik und den Herausforderungen des Lebens in der High Society macht das Buch zu einem echten Page-Turner. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, mehr über die weiteren Entwicklungen im Magnolia Parks Universe zu erfahren. Eine absolute Leseempfehlung!
