Hamish Miller, what a dude!!
Hamish Miller, what a great dude! I got to know who he was from reading Freddy Silva's books and watching a clip on You Tube about his near death experience. His life changing experience moved him to 'up sticks' and completely change his life! After a chance encounter with a gentlemen,he decided to alter his life focus and began to learn the ancient art of dowsing. The rest is history, He has been acknowledged as a world authority on the subject, There are many clips on You Tube of him carrying out his work and they are well worth a watch. The book is informative and written with a gentle sense of humour which makes it an excellent read and a good guide for any one interested in pursuing the subject.

nice read
this book is not really an instruction book if that's what you're after, however it is historically informative and easy to put your pocket or bag so if you do get 5 minutes you can dive in. Its gives lots of references to others and I loved the old fashioned illustrations.

A fun book that can be taken seriously
A guide for the would-be dowser (e.g. is there a hidden well in your back garden?), advising how to start, the various ways you can do it and its uses. Illustrations throughout. One of many Little Wooden Books on a wide range of subjects.

A master dowser shares his knowledge
If you have any previous knowledge of dowsing but are looking for a practical and humorous guide to help you get started as a practitioner, then this could well be the book that will help you get going. You may have read the 'Sun and the Serpent', written by Paul Broadhurst and featuring the extensive abilities of Hamish Miller, which volume acts as a testimony to the abilities being discussed in development in the title reviewed here. Hamish came late to dowsing, having spent most of his life in a completely unrelated business. Having discovered the interest and talent he had, the rest, as the old saying goes, was history. I cannot think that at the cost of this title that anyone with even a passing interest would not benefit from reading it; the seasoned expert will love the humorous and informative style that Hamish adopted in writing the book, the curious and even casual reader may well find the impetous to explore further and find the interest that Hamish himself discovered in the subject, and who knows may be contribute their own rich vein of information to share with others. Once you have read this title I strongly recommend that you read the 'Sun and the Serpent', as it will showcase Hamishs' talent very well, and take the reader even further into the related subject of ley lines.

A lovely little book
Hamish has a lovely, humorous way of writing and really engages the reader, although you are left wanting to know more and more this handbook is a great book to get the sparks going. The book is very encouraging and Hamish quickly reassures the reader that we are all naturals and none of us need credentials or permission to participate, enjoy and excel in this field.

some letters are so tiny that they cannot be read anymore
I bought two books from this series. The content is ok, nothing new really. I was more interested in the images and sadly very disappointed that the print in some pictures is so tiny that the letters blur into lines. Overall not a joy to read because of the poor printing, I guess. And yes, I was wearing my glasses and I do not need new ones.

Good Introduction to dowsing.
This little book by an experienced dowser is a neat and handy introduction. It contains a little history of dowsing, plus the elementary tools and techniques - which is all you need really to start dowsing, or to know a little about it.

Miller is a Master
Simple, easy to grasp, thought provoking... only a true Cornishman could address the topic with such passion. The work of a true master on the topic.

Connecting man to his Earth home
This a delightfully short yet complete account of the uses of dowsing, a distillation of wide experience on virtually every continent. Written by one of the true gurus in this field it provides essential details which one can carry in a shirt pocket to refer to in the field. In all, a great introduction to an physical force, known for millenia, used by pre-christian cultures, yet still without complete scientific explanation.
