A lifetime of searching, completed
This stuff is what I've been looking for my whole life! I've always had cats, so have always kept a lookout for the best cleaners and odor-killers for accidents, and I finally found a winner.Decided to get this after I read a private cat shelter-owner recommend it (if anyone would know, they would, right?). It definitely works, and isn't just temporary, like many other methods and products I've used that seem to nix the stink for a few days or a week only to have it return again. Our cat announced he had a UTI (FLUTD) by peeing on our mattress. Our :mattress!: We weren't present when it happened, so it had been there for at least a few hours by the time it was found. My husband cleaned it up very, very thoroughly...but given it hadn't been caught immediately, we wanted to make sure that we got as deep into the material as possible. I couldn't smell urine outright after the cleaning had dried and aired, but it didn't smell :clean: either. Even a day after it was cleaned, the cat went to the spot to sniff awhile multiple times, whether because of urine smell or Biokleen smell, I don't know. The standby of white vinegar and baking soda for odor would not do for this obviously, and I wanted to make sure that beyond cleanliness that the cats wouldn't smell it even if I couldn't, to prevent any weird marking behavior, which one has shown tendency to do in the past after the site of a puppy's accidental piddle on our carpet became his favorite rebel urinal. Needless to say, I did not want my side of the mattress becoming the new rebel urinal. This totally worked. I was skeptical about pouring something on and just leaving it there, but it really did work. Didn't need to use much of it either. It is a clear liquid, barely thicker than water if at all, and doesn't produce suds, so a little goes a long way quickly. It sat for a bit, air dried (left the window open to facilitate that). It's been about two months now, and it's like the accident never happened, and there have been no attempts by the cats to go there again, not even curiosity about the scent...because there isn't any! This stuff also works really well on plastic. After our little guy got diagnosed and continued to go outside the box on blankets and our sheets (caught him in the act those times luckily!) he was "quarantined" in our old dog kennel. Lucky for us, our dog was giant breed, so the cat had the king suite of boarding kennels to keep him from making further mess. We completely changed out his litter and sanitized his box every couple days or so to knock out bacteria, using the Stink Free on the litter box itself as a last step after initially cleaning it. That box has never smelled so clean, even when it was off the shelf, and we've had it a few years now with plenty of use. We also used the Stink Free on the whole floor of the kennel to keep away any staleness or dirty litter smell, and that was fantastic too. It too smelled better than when we cleaned it after storage. The scent of the Stink Free never once upset or deterred our three cats from any of their spaces (if anything, they seemed extra happy after examining the freshness), nor did it bother myself or my husband, who has relatively bad nasal allergies and sensitivities. In fact, it smells quite fresh, and has been only very temporary each time we've used it. In hunting for reviews online, it seems that people suggest it has an ammonia-like smell... I have no idea how. Perhaps if the area is not quite initially cleaned well enough, the ammonia in the cat's urine mixes with the product's scent if it gets scrubbed/agitated or something, but we did -not- have this experience, so I can't say what it's like if the area isn't sanitized beforehand. The scent itself, to me, is just as if a basic pet shampoo and a dryer sheet fused together in a 1:2 ratio for scent. Completely innocuous. Fresh-breezy good. Even if I put my nose above the open bottle alone and take a whiff, it is not strong. No eye-watering pungency, no chemical throat/nasal sting. I don't have to hold my breath when I use it. Utterly forgettable in the best way.Really big bottle too! We've used this stuff a lot after a different cat had some health problems and the nastiness that goes with (non-urine! It worked then too!), and I don't even need to consider reordering yet, but when I'm out, I'll definitely be reordering it.

It works!
After trying many odor eliminators. I found this one and it truly works. My cat was urinating in the basement bc of a UTI on the cement floor and all I needed to do was spray this on the floor where he urinated and it takes out the smell totally. My basement smells so much better now with the urine odor gone. It doesn't stop him from urinating, but a least i can keep the smell at bay. Definitely worth getting this!

Finally something that REALLY works - even on OLD stains
I had a very stubborn cat urine stain/smell on my brand new mattress that I couldn't get out for months. I tried every product on the market. I read a review that it works on old stains, so that prompted me to buy it. Much to my surprise - IT ACTUALLY WORKED. I completely saturated the area, let it sit for a few hours. I propped up the mattress from the box spring with books and ran a fan on it to dry. The perfumey scent was a bit strong, so I also put a fan in the window to filter it out. It's been a week, the perfumey scent is very mild, but the urine smell is completely gone. I'm so happy and relieved. It was a very expensive mattress!!

Strong Scent But It Works
After many years of pet ownership and trying various brands, I found this brand several years ago and have been sticking with it ever since. I would warn anyone with sensitivities however, it has an extremely strong deodorizing scent while wet; hard to describe, but the fragrance is almost overwhelming, somewhere between perfumey and detergent-like. BUT: It works, so I keep buying it despite the strong scent. It doesn't just mask the urine odor either, it genuinely seems to eliminate it and once the product dries the odor isn't overwhelming anymore and the urine smell is gone. I have a senior-aged kitty who suffers from Urinary Tract Disease and he goes outside the box when it's acting up and he's in discomfort. I've tried many other brands offering various promises and none that I've tried work as well as this. You pour it on the stain and leave it to dry, very easy. It warns to test for color fastness but I've never had any issues with it on surfaces or fabrics. I particularly like it for my unfinished hardwood floors because it's otherwise impossible to clean into the floor boards with any degree of success when cat urine odor is involved. So I just pour this in the cracks and leave it. As a further testament, just this last week I ran out and of course that's when my cat had an accident. After scrubbing and scrubbing I thought I might have to throw away my area rug because I could still smell it and it had dried days before my order for this bottle arrived. But sure enough, I poured it on the area where the urine odor was still strong and now it's gone, so it apparently works great even if the stain isn't fresh.

IT REALLY WORKS
I have 7 cats and I have had cats all of my life but I HATE the smell of cat pee. Although my cats are trained to go in the litter box, from time to time one of the males will pee somewhere. This stuff really does remove the pee smell

This works, I’ve tried almost everything else with marginal results.
I was surprised, this stuff actually works and does not just cover the smell. If you do a good job of saturating the affected area, it will work. I have tried ALMOST EVERYTHING over the years and this one does work. I don’t like the intense smell at all, but putting a cloth lightly over the top seems to help keep the odor confined somewhat. It does dissipate over time once it dries, so the smell is not a deal breaker. Especially since I cannot find anything else that has worked better for me. I cannot speak to whether any stains remain, my carpet is a blended brown medium pile carpet. My cat is a jerk, so I am buying more.

Unsuccessful
Unfortunately it did not stop the behavior. In this case, I was up against 2 cats working against me. It seems that before the product could really work on wood floor, one of the cats would either urinate or defecate in one of 2 corners. I am now trying cottonballs soaked in essential oils (lemongrass and orange).
