Perfect for clutter free travel, or for that scary standardized exam
This is a great stationery set--pen, marker, pencil and highlighter. It is perfect for travel; all you need are in one nice small case. The triangular grips are easy to use for long term writing. The highlighter ink does not smear anything printed on an inkjet printer. If you need to take a standardized exam (MCAT, LSAT, GRE...etc) this kit will give you everything you need. The pencil is a standard 0.5 mm diameter lead that is perfect for Scantron(TM) forms. The eraser screws out so it is much larger than it looks at first glance. One of my professors suggested that if you are taking an exam by computer and the computer fails, get ready to hand write the remainder. He suggested having pens of different diameters so that the hand doesn't get cramped. In this digital age handwriting has gone out of favor. However in the above mentioned testing, should your laptop give up the ghost, handwriting is a must. Given that, the triangular shape makes these implements easy to hold for long hours of frantic writing. The ballpoint takes a bit of warming up before it really begins to write but the others are ready to go from the moment they are put to paper. A good thing to keep in one's backpack/attache case for those times when nothing but a writing implement will do. (Check out the larger one in black too!)

Great set of basic tools!
I love all of the products in the Triplus series, and the cases that they come in are great. The heft of the utensils is perfect for me, and the caps for this set fit and stay on the end of the pen while I am writing (not all of the caps stay on for some of my Triplus sets). This set is compact and covers all the basics - rollerball, fineliner, pencil, and highlighter. Very easy to toss into the purse or the teacher-bag.

I am now a pencil/highlighter snob
[bzymom's freeloading daughter here] I am now a worn-down second year law student and a proud highlighter snob. This set has ruined me. I used to be fine with whatever free highlighter or Ink Joy pen I could get my freeloading hands on but no longer. I carry this set with me everyday and will even toss it into my purse if I am not toting around my giant LLBean for some reason. I cannot stand to be without it. Let me count the reasons why: 1. The case is so useful. I shamelessly pop it up (just like in the picture) when I study and really enjoy the ritual of it. 2. The highlighter is king of all others: the yellow is bright without being painful, the color never bleeds in any way; it can make a thin line to underline or circle and also easily highlight an entire line, and it never smears. It is also comfortable to hold. 3. The pencil has truly ruined me in how comfortable it is to hold and use, the eraser twists up so there is actually enough for more than one use, the lead is so dark it almost looks like ink, and it absolutely never smears. EVER. I use it to take all of my in-class notes so I can erase/fix mistakes and I am never worried the lead will brush away in my notebook because that just isn't an issue here. God this lead is so good. 4. The ballpoint pen writes so beautifully and smoothly it's like when you get an updated prescription on your glasses and can finally see all the details around you that you've been missing your whole life. Other students have actually tried to take this pen from me because of how smoothly it writes. I will fight them. 5. The fineliner - everyone already knows about this guy I bet. It is what sucks most people in, so I will not dwell on it other than to say it is the best version of a felt tip/Sharpie-like pen there ever was and ever will be. It just feels satisfying to write with on any surface. I could keep going but I think I've made my point: you need this. Join the snobbery.

Great.
Blue ink pen came dried out and couldn't get to work, bullet highlighter dried out within a week of use, felt tip bent but I press a bit hard when writing. Pencil worked fine, and carrying case is convenient for travel.

I love this set of pen
I love this set of pen! The fineliner and pencil are both excellent. The pencil lead writes very smoothly and the eraser is very effective and erases clean. I don't use the ballpoint pen or highlighter often, but they both come in very useful when signing official documents or editing papers. The set comes with me wherever I go now, and I use it all the time!

I'm often on the go for work and this set is great. It has everything I need and the case keeps them contained so I never have to hunt for this or that. It has a black felt tip, blue ball point, mechanical pencil, and yellow highlighter. It's everything you need to get the job done!

Great pen set - stays nicely together; easy to stand on a desk
I especially like using Staedtler Triplus pens, markers, highlighters, etc. on a nice Rhodia notepad. Talk about perfection. I used to be a faithful Zebra Sarasa fan, but Triplus fineliners are smoother, and don't smear. And this set comes in one of the Staedtler signature click/stands, it's a pen holder that with just one click becomes a desk pen stand. I hope they never stop making these :).

Not gonna lie, this ain’t it
Not a great writing experience with these however strange or pretentious that sounds - even to me, it’s true. These are very lightweight which may be good for some people but seriously, it feels like writing with a plastic chopstick.
