Acctim Sweeper Analogue Alarm Clock Non Ticking Sweep Smartlite® Quartz Silver

This is my honest & true review I purchased this clock on 19/09/24 even though there was negative reviews regarding the battery life, well let me just say I have just changed the 3 AA battery's in my clock today for the first time, so that's over 14 months which is brilliant battery life. I only use Aldi Alkaline AA battery's. The clock itself is sturdy & robust & clear to see the tine when it's dark. I would say it's the best alarm clock I have owned. If your looking for a new alarm ⏰️ clock, then I highly recommend this one as tried & tested for over 14 months.

have used this clock for two years now and had no problems with it. It keeps perfect time, only needing to adjust it twice a year for Summertime / Wintertime. The clock mechanism is absolutely quiet as well, unlike other "non ticking" ones I've used in the past. I've noticed other reviews have described this clock having the glow in the dark "Smartlite" feature, this particular "Europa" model clock does not, instead it uses luminous hands and an incandescent backlight, which only lights while the snooze button is kept pressed down. This clock uses two AA batteries which I have not had to change since I first bought it, though I've noticed it will run quite happily with just one battery inserted into either slot, though I don't know how long it will last like this.

Having had a Nokia mobile phone that used to wake me up brilliantly, i then changed to a Blackberry mobile phone and had problems accidentally switching the alarm off on waking, so having overslept twice ironically i now needed to go out and get a proper alarm clock - this Sweeper Alarm Clock silver was the third different one i tried. It isn't bad and its much easier to set and double check than a digital alarm clock equivalent (where being half asleep on setting the alarm time i accidentally confused the wake up and actual times when setting the alarm) so i needed a really fail-safe and easy to use alarm clock and this does the job. A few points however to consider: 1) It is not silent - you can hear the second hand sweeping around - why on earth they have this second hand on there i have no idea - i'm hardly going to use the alarm clock to time myself doing anything (remove it! is my suggestion and then the sweeper noise will hopefully go too!) and 2) the green light** that emits from the whole of the clock face is actually quite bright (dull but bright if that makes any sense, a kind of radio active green light(lol))- so this light is ideal if you want to clearly be able to see the time but not ideal if you want your bedroom kept as dark as possible. Now to counteract both these problems i wear an eye mask to stop seeing the light and i have a white noise machine to conteract the sweeping hand noise (i should say i did have both of these in use before the new alarm clock arrived! lol) - **UPDATE: having just read someone else's review - you can actually turn this green backlight off and you'll just see it when you press the snooze/light button (or you can have it on full time) just found the sensor button for it right now! Phew!!! 3) One more thing is that it has a snooze facility of only 5 minutes - i would like a five and ten minute snooze option if it were possible. 4) The clock is also quite plasticy (not specifically classy) but is just a silver plastic looking alarm clock - not particularly a bad look..... but it just won't add any class/attractiveness to your bedroom Would i buy the clock again? well if i found another similar clock that was silent and wasn't brightly(but dully) lit then No, but if nothing else was available then Yes i would buy it again. I don't think you'll be disappointed in the clock as its harmless but if you are very audio or light sensitive then maybe try it out and return it if not suitable or shop around elsewhere. I think i read somewhere that the design/colour of this alarm clock may change slightly, periodically - so check in the description if it gives any indication of varying in its description.... Love this alarm clock! Bought one last year for my younger daughter, just ordered another for my older daughter who hates the ticking of her own alarm clock and ends up throwing it into her drawer every night, which kind of defeats the purpose! This is just the right size and very sturdy. It is easy to read and has an sensor which is automatic to light up the clock when it gets dark, you can also turn this off manually if you prefer not to have it on. The alarm is easy to set and when it goes off it starts very quiet and gradually increases which is a much nicer way to get awoken in the morning. There is no ticking noise at all it is completely silent! I have nothing negative about it whatsoever and am thinking of ordering another one for myself. Great wee clock recommend it!

What's the use of an alarm clock where the alarm goes off at random times but not at the set time? I bought the Acctim Sweeper Analogue Alarm Clock as a Christmas present to my fiancé. After 2 months she's had to stop using it as the alarm is so inaccurate and unreliable. I contacted Acctim through the Amazon UK website and they've not bothered to reply. The clock in my opinion is unmarketable and the supplier is unresponsive - a case of 'we've got your money so don't bother us?' The irony is she choose this clock as a replacement for an old Acctim Sweeper Analogue Alarm Clock she'd had for several years that had given good service. The new one being so unreliable has therefore been a huge disappointment but doing business with a company that doesn't even have the courtesy to respond is beyond the pale. If after reading this review you still go ahead and purchase one good luck. I'm sure if yours proves reliable you'll be satisfied but if you have a problem don't waste your time trying to get the supplier to remedy your problem, they can't be bothered.

Îch kaufte den Wecker, der folgende Kriteren erfüllen sollte: - kein Funkwecker - lautlos - mit Batterie betrieben - Snooze-Funktion - einfache Handhabung Er erfüllte die Punkte. Ich war begeistert. Die Nachtbeleuchtung kam mir mit der Zeit sehr hell vor, so schaltete ich sie ab. Solange man die obere Taste drückt ist das Zifferblatt beleuchtet. Die Zeit kann man auch schlaftrunken sofort klar ablesen. Nach 2 Monaten geht der Wecker noch auf die Minute genau. Der Wecker ist ziemlich tief und damit kein zierlicher Wecker, was mich nicht stört. Nun die Schwächen. Nach dem 10. Gebrauch wurde ich in der Frühe nicht geweckt, obwohl ich den Wecker "scharf" geschalten hatte. Ich fand heraus, dass der Schalter nach oben gedrückt werden muss, dann den Schalter loslassen und nochmals nach oben drücken. OK, so funktionierte er wieder tadellos. Dann nach 2 Monaten, ich packte ihn im Hotel in die Reisetasche. Abends im anderem Hotel ausgepackt und auf den Nachttisch getellt. War war das? Der Wecker ist seitdem nicht mehr lautlos. Ein zartes "dog" - etwa 3 - 4 mal pro Sekunde ist seitdem zu hören. Der Wecker muss schon gut einen Meter entfernt sein, um ihn nicht mehr zu hören. Er muss weiter auf die Reisen und seine Dienste verrichten, aber schade, dass er so schnell verschleißt. Nachtrag vom 23.06.2016: Wenn man etwas Weiches (z. B. ein oder zwei neue Papiertaschentücher) unter den Wecker legt, dann ist er deutlich leiser.

Nice looking and simple to operate clock. So far it is keeping accurate time.

lo he comprado para mi madre. Le encanta. Las agujas son lumisniscentes, así se ven en la oscuridad. El tono de la alarma son cuatro pips intermitentes que se van repitiendo. El sonido no es ascendente, así que desde el principio es bastante alto,pero a mi madre le parece bien así. Al apagar por la parte superior se enciende una luz interna y suena al cabo de un rato. Si lo quieres apagar del todo es por una pestañita lateral. Lo recomiendo. Es bonito. Viene sin pilas.

Dieser Wecker ist sehr leise, das war mir besonders wichtig. Er ist auch nachts ohne Brille gut lesbar und der "Lichtschalter" ist oben. Das waren die Kaufoptionen. Der Artikel ist also zu empfehlen. Zusätzliche Pluspunkte sind das formschöne Aussehen und die Standfestigkeit.
