Charles River Apparel Women's Breeze Vest

I ordered this for running. I am 5'5", 140# and a 36D. I typically wear a small because I like things form fitting but was worried this might not have the extra room for layering with a microfleece thermal shirt (CuddleDud) when the weather is colder, especially under the armpits. I considered a medium but decided on a small and am very glad I did because it fits perfectly whether I have on a thicker CuddleDud or thinner running shirt. One of the reasons I give it 4 out of 5 stars is the wind/water proof claim in the description. It says it's wind and water resistant Softex Polyester so I assumed it was the entire vest. Turns out the only part that has the softex is the shoulders and the front pocket. That's all well and good but when you're running, the rain often hits you on the chest and back and that's where I really need the protection. The other reason it gets 4 starts is the collar is very annoying. I don't wear things zipped all the way up and I hate the way the one side rubs against my face when it's partially zipped or not zipped at all so I have to wear it with the collar folded down. All in all, a nice vest, will be good for running days when a jacket is too warm and just a running shirt is too cold. And I also wear it to work in our business casual office environment so that's an added bonus.

I'm surprised at how hard it has been to find a decent, affordable, black vest on Amazon. You'd think there would be tons. I went ahead and got this one, and I'm not totally in love with it, but it will do. Such a basic wardrobe item! -- you'd think it would be easy to find a great one! The main problem with this one is the neck/collar. It bunches out in a funny way -- doesn't lay flat against one's neck and chin if zipped all the way up. And if not zipped all the way up, it doesn't lay well as a lapel. A shame, because the rest of the vest fits well and feels nice.

I do really like this vest. I got it in blush pink. Based on other customer comments I got it in extra large and it is quite roomy. However, fits nicely with a sweater underneath. As other customers have mentioned, the collar is rather stiff and it doesn't lay down nicely when the zipper is down a bit. However, the color, material, pockets and length are all pretty much perfect.

I wanted a vest other than fleece to wear in place of a sweater or sweatshirt and tried this one in black. I loved it. It's light and very comfy; I hardly notice it's on. It falls nicely and is not too short and not boxy. Bought a 2nd one in the blush pink which seems more to me like dusty pink. More dusty than pink, but I'll keep it. I'm 5' 3", 138-139 lbs and 38D so finding a vest with a flattering fit and the armholes aren't gaping is a challenge. This one is perfect. Will likely pick up the white one too. Wish they had more colors.

I wanted a little something extra to thrown on over my golf jacket when we are out early in the morning. This is perfect! I despise those nylon/polyester/nonbreathable ones cause they make me so sweaty. This is a very nice, soft, breathable knit. I did order one size larger than my normal size so it'd be sure and be roomy enough to fit over layers, but it's quite roomy and I could have gotten by with a size smaller. Love it and recommend it for anyone wanting a lightweight but non-plasticy feeling vest.

I got this vest for the summer, to wear on top of tighter-fitting long-sleeve shirts for a casual modest look as I walk for exercise around my neighborhood. I also needed the pockets, since I mostly wear leggings/skirts. I use it practically every day. My only complaint is that the top of the collar pokes my neck if it's not zipped up all the way or folded under. Otherwise, a great buy!

This fits well and is pretty comfortable with the exception of the collar, which I wish would lie down a bit when I choose to zip the vest only part way. It would probably not bother someone who is a bit taller than me (I'm 5'3"). Even with this, it is quite nice; I especially like the pockets which are deep enough to keep the items secure.

I am 5'6", 135lbs, 34D bra size... I ordered medium, black. Fits perfect. I wanted it to be fitted, but not skin tight, so I could wear a sweater underneath, for example. It's hard to tell in the photo what material the vest is. The shoulders, neck and pockets of the vest are nylon, and the front panels are a dense fabric. It is tailored for a woman's curves, and very flattering on. It hits me mid hip. It seems like it will be a good extra layer for a slightly chilly day, but this would not add a lot of warmth.
