SKG Wide Chute Anti-Oxidation Slow Masticating Juicer (240W AC Motor, 60 RPMs, 3" Large Mouth) - Vertical Masticating Cold Press Juicer - Fruit and Vegetable Juice Extractor

After using an Omega 800 for years, I finally decided to go for a verticle machine with a larger feed chute. After trying and returning several other brands of the same type, I settled on this SKG and am reasonably happy with it. Nice and heavy, easy to assemble and use. However, I still have to do a lot of chopping, especially of hard veggies like carrots, beets, and sweet potatoes, because if the pieces fed into the anger are too large or too much is fed into the machine before the pieces clear through the slowly moving auger, the thing jams and I have to take it apart to clean the half-chewed material out. Needless to say, this makes a mess. No matter how small the pieces of fibrous material like celery or pineapple, the pulp ejection chute clogs up easily ( tho not as much as other models/ brands I tried) and the hook on the end of the brush provided must be used to clear it so the pulp will be ejected and the juice does not back up. Otherwise, used with patience, the juicer does a great job extracting a good quantity of juice and leaving a reasonably dry pulp. I have to say that overall, were I to only be juicing celery, carrots, handfuls of greens, and other long chunks of hard items like sweet potatoes and beets, nothing compares to the horizontal masticating powerhouse of the Omega 800. It keeps on grinding forever, never overheats or jams, takes whole carrots and celery w/o cutting into pieces, and rinses clean in a snap. Still the clear winner in my book. If only they'd make one with a larger feed chute...the only drawback.

This juicer is super easy, quiet, and makes a lot of juice. My photo shows the Red and Blue Juice from their recipe booklet. It made about 3 & ½ cups of juice. However, the juice is NOT a nice, crisp juice like I get from my Breville Elite. It is more like a sludge or thin smoothie. I even tried straining it but it’s too thick and just sits in the strainer bag. Squeezing it out just squeezes out the entire thing and doesn’t leave behind any pulp.My Breville Elite is loud, sometimes splatters when loading things into the chute and creates a foam on top of the juice (which is easily scooped off or left behind in the juice collection bin). But it works!! I had hoped to find something quieter and easier to clean. This juicer is quieter but not as effective as my Breville. And as for ease of cleaning, it takes about the same amount of time due to the small area where pulp gets caught in the compression silicone area. That’s the worst section to get clear. Time-wise, from start to finish including prepping produce and cleaning the unit, it takes me 15 minutes with my Breville and around 20-25 with the SKG. Not a huge difference, so it’s really the quality of juice that is a deal breaker for me. (I always clean the unit before sitting down to enjoy my juice. It’s much easier to clean when done early!)I have juiced carrots, celery, cucumber, and apple without having to cut up into tiny pieces like I had to with the Omega I tried before this. You can use pretty large pieces which is time-saving compared to the Omega. This SKG juiced the veggies fairly well with some pulp in the juice and not nearly as “sludgy” as juicing the fruits (watermelon, strawberries, blueberries).Overall I like the juicer somewhat, but it’s definitely a step down from my Breville in quality of juice it produces. Based on how fruit juices especially, I had to send this back for a full refund. Thank goodness Amazon has an exceptional return procedure.

Well first of all I wanna say that this juicer is honestly awesome. I had a different juicer that I bought about 2yr ago & honestly this SKG juicer is wayyy better than that other one. My sister loved it & is planning on buying one for her family. I couldn’t be happier with this juicer seriously I don’t regret it from buying it. If any of u buy this juicer u guys seriously won’t regret it. It’s really worth it. I purchased this juicer and it juices lots of hard veggies and leafy greens VERY well. Not long after purchasing the motor was making a noise that didn't sound right. I contacted the company directly and they sent me a brand new machine! I had read that the customer service was amazing before I purchased it and found it all to be very true. I'm 100% satisfied with my juicer and the care the company took to help with any problems. I highly recommend!

I could handle much of the cons with ease, but not the pulp. If I need to strain my juice and loose so much yield I’ll be going through produce like crazy. I don’t like pulp in my juice. I have a great blender for that!So overall, if it was much cheaper than maybe these flaws would be acceptable. But for this price I can get a top product with a 15 year warranty.

I love the SKG Juicing machine. It is well built and runs great. I use it everyday and have only needed to replace two parts after years of use.

I like this juicer for 3 reasons (a) it is easy to carry and it comes with a bag so it can be taken with me for a weekend away from home (b) it is quiet and works exceptionally well, i just love using it, i do every day since it arrived (c) It is easy to clean. There is nothing about it i dislike.
