Sometime the pressure gauge need to be installed in environments exposure to moisture or rain, such as swimming pool and outdoor gardan. If the gauge is not water tight, the infiltrating water will condense inside and cover the surface of glass with small drops of water and make it difficult to see through or reflect a clear reading. Ultimately cause moisture damage and reduce the service life of gauge. Saw this one on Amazon and it's so far working fantastic. Not sure why the first one developed a huge offset. Normally it would read 0 PSI when pump was off and 15 PSI when filtering the pool water which is normal. It may have been damaged if the water in the Gauge happened it froze at some point, but the Sand Filter & Pool Pump worked just fine this season so not sure why it developed a large offset.
