Hold more than it looks like it will
I used this on my 2017 Nissan Rogue Sport while driving cross country. It held two large suitcases plus 4 backpacks full of stuff. I did have to drill a set of new holes in the front for it to properly align with my roof rack but it was easy to do. It held up great for a 7 day journey driving 70-80mph, even in the 115° heat of the Mohave Desert. Take the time to read the directions and properly install it and properly use it and it won’t let you down. Also, we probably exceeded the weight limit with all of our stuff. It did sag a little in between the crossbars but that’s all.

May have to drill new holes for your cargo rack. But easy to do.
So far so good. Not big but at least it doesn’t look overly huge on top of my Nissan. Easy to put together. Had to drill a new set of holes for the front as my bars do not adjust. But the directions tell you that this can be done and to use 5/8 inch drill bit. We did and it worked fine and fits well. Will not hold huge items like folding chairs but will certainly hold 7 or 8 mid size bags. We use soft luggage so I think that will work well in this carrier. Seems like a good carrier for the money.

Good (but not great) affordable top mount luggage carrier
Had to write this review because I needed to know the exact height and found conflicting information on the subject - So I just ordered anyways with fingers crossed. The height seems to be hard to gauge due to the raised floor and the rounded top.... but the back profile will fit items 16.25" high on the edges and close to 17" high in the middle. Luckily, this unit does what I was hoping for: Fitting 3 airplane carry-on style suitcases (setting edgeways) and a duffle bag (or 2 if smaller size) with a little more room to space for a blanket etc. From the back to the front, the unit tapers in size a bit to be aerodynamic, So you'll be able to fits items in the Back & Main spacing area to a max of 33"x24.5" and you'll still have room in the front tapered area (roughly 24.5" tapering to 14") x 11". The plastic is rather thin and wobbly while loading up, but gets more rigid when fully closed into the groves (with all locks and clips activated). Note: The unit is predrilled for 22" on center. It will fit more sizes but you'll need a 5/16" drill to tackle it. The maxed out on center measurement is probably 34". BUT if you spanning out the far you might want to also consider the weight distribution (it is rated for an equal 100lbs). For additional security i'd also recommend purchasing 3 luggage locks (for the clips). Overall the cargo unit is a good deal for the price.

VERY VERY THIN
It does it job for only $170, but it's very very thin. I can take a plastic butter knife a cut through it. Spend a little more money and get a good one.

Getting What Ya Pay For
Well. I accidently reviewed a copy of this box (there's a few completely identical versions with different logo stickers) but this is the actual brand I bought. Fits factory rack on '19 Subaru Crosstrek. I personally moved the crossbars as far back as possible to help with noise and mileage, and those affects were minimal. The sound of the road is much louder than this box, and the mileage drop was directly related to the speed of travel but at 70mph my mileage only dropped from like 30mpg to 28.5mpg. I was nervous buying a 9cu ft box, because it seemed so much smaller than all the other ones available, but this box was big enough to carry half the camping gear and all of the fly fishing gear for two people. I can't tell you how nice it was not having wet waders and boots stinking up my car between destinations. I didn't notice any tie-down spots to secure gear, but I'm amazing at Tetris so our gear never moved around during transit. The U-bolts are annoying to mount the box but they are crazy secure. I tried (with more force than I probably should've) to shift the box after mounting and it didn't budge. Assembly of this box is a real pain, because you have to join together two metal pieces that only fit if you force them, but once assembled it again seems really secure. There's basically one step: force the hinge parts together and clip. Once the hinge side is secure, there are external clamps on the front, back, and hinge side that ensure the box stays shut even if you neglected to lock the locking side (which wouldn't be a smart move but hey, mistakes can be made). The locking side has two individual locks (same key, no worries) so with them in place, there's really no chance of this thing coming open on the freeway. Better yet, the clamps are secured with these little clips that seem useless but work well enough, BUT if you wanted to, you could use a small padlock instead of the clips to really, REALLY secure the box shut. To hold the box open, there are these flimsy metal arms attached to the bottom that hook into a ball thing on the top. Use both! I used only one and a gust of wind warped the ball thing and almost ruined it. That's one of the worst parts of this box, such that I often didn't bother using the arms at all and preferred to just hold it open instead. They work, don't get me wrong, but they're annoying. Summary: Pros- -Secure -Price is phenomenal -Good amount of space for gear of one or two people -Not so bad on noise or mileage Cons- -Annoying assembly -Annoying mounting -Annoying arms to hold lid open -Only opens on passenger side In conclusion, I've decided it's worth it to me to spend twice as much to get a box that addresses all the cons listed here. But if you're on a budget, this thing does the job for sure.

Does its job!
This cartop carrier has been great. The way it is designed, the top closes over the bottom with an "over lip", making it very difficult for water to get into the carrier. I've driven over 3,000 miles through sun wind and rain, and it has been perfect. My only challenge, and it's because I'm not super tall, is opening and closing the carrier. If I were taller, it would be easy to manipulate the arms that prop the lid open. So the only thing I would improve would be having the arms be connected and open and close on it's own. But for the price, it is a great product.
