I'm a gear-head. I love machines and toys. I am NOT an RC guy - just never got into it. A serious RC person might poo poo this little thing, but it is above average in my book for entry level toys. This thing hauls!!! I bought it for my pool. It's too fast for my pool, frankly, but I'm not upset about it. It can go slower if you drive it slower, but it's so much fun to hit the "gas" and see it launch, that you're going to want to do it over and over. Some of my takeaways are:- Buy spare batteries if you plan to run it in a pond, or if you have a big pool - It comes with two, and they recharge fast. In my small pool, one battery lasts a long time. The controller gives little (loud) beeps when the battery is running low. You MUST pay attention to this in a big body of water, as when the battery is done, it's done. You'll get one last warning where the beeps keep coming until it dies, but you've got maybe 30 seconds until it's cashed.- The controller has quite good range and the boat is very responsive. If you are going to test the limits of range in a pond, it would be wise to have a boat or some other method of recovery ready.- If you are new to RC toys, you should prepare yourself for wanting more. It is seriously fun. I find myself grinning ear to ear when I'm playing with it.- The boat comes with a little rubber cover for the nose (bow) of the boat. I made the mistake of throwing it away, because I thought it was just for packaging. If you run this in a pool, you are going to want this BUMPER on the boat to protect the hull. It's fast; you WILL hit the side of your pool and mash the tip of the hull without it. Fortunately I was able to order a new one on Amazon.- Boat comes with spare parts - which suggests it is possible to damage things - but also that it's a quality enough toy to account for that.BOTTOM LINE - IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT THESE - BUY ONE!!!

I have had other RC boats before and am an avid RC plane, quad, and heli flier. I haven't used a boat for a number of years and this was my first jump back into boats. Wow, things have changed! First, there is peace of mind. Having telemetry to let me know that the battery is low is fantastic. There is nothing worse than wading out into water or worse, trying to catch a boat with fishing line. Not a problem with the H106! Also, this thing can self-right and is water tight. Truly amazing. It handles great.I had to give a lot of left trim on the rudder to get it to go straight. It turns on a dime, especially at fast speeds. The included silicone nose cone bumper is probably needed for a pool or an area with rocks and such. Otherwise, let loose and have fun. The birds stayed away while I played, freeing up the pond for some figure 8s and exploring. Next up will be a small camera once I figure out how best to mount and protect it. The boat is small and easy to transport. The batteries last about 10 minutes - longer if you're just putting around.One note. My first model stopped working almost immediately, but the company replaced it. Easy returns with Amazon! My second model had been great. I've gone through a half dozen batteries and no issues. If you want to get a sense for how fast the boat is, check out the videos online. Just look for the H106. There are a few suppliers out there now. Its an amazing boat that won't set you back money-wise and will be a pleasure to play with. Get two and play with friends, race, etc.

This was a great boat. The back broke on the first drive after an hour but it does come with extra pieces, we are hoping if we charge it and replace the back piece we will have a happy kid again.

Pros: It does work well out of the box, easy to set up and get started. Responds quickly with the controller. If the boat flips upside down, you can move the joystick quickly and get it to get back right side up.Cons: My wife bought it for me during the winter months for my birthday. Took it out early on a nice day and had fun. The batteries do not last long. Had to get in a kayak to retrieve it. Put it away until now (spring) trying to use it a second time. One of the batteries will not charge. The boat is making a screeching noise. Brought it back to shore and turned the controller off. Something inside the motor will not shut off. I disconnected the battery to get it to stop. I thought this would reset it. Plugged the battery back in and the motor started running again. Too bad, I am out of my return period and it doesn’t work after my second use. I would not recommend this particular boat for this reason.5/5/2020The supplier reached out to us after the review. They indicated they wanted us to be happy with our purchase. They offered a full refund, or a new boat. Since they were so polite and offered such great customer service, I decided to get a new boat. They quickly sent me a new one. So far so good. I am really pleased with the customer service of this supplier. Thank you for being so helpful and giving us a product we will enjoy!
