Great Smart Device for the Price.
I have 3 zones and so 3 of these. Easy to use, works great when coupled with Sensi's room sensors. Eligible for a cashback gift card via PSEG in NY/NJ as of Winter 2026.Pros: Easy to use, accurate temp measurements, works with Alexa seamlessly, blends in with the wall wellCons: 2.4 ghz wifi only - new routers have to be tricked into that mode to get it to initially connect.Note: Some product descriptions of this unit say a common wire is not needed, it most definitely does need one.

No issues yet! See below for tips
Ordered this "used like new" for under 40 bucks yesterday and and installed it today. Installation and wifi connection took less than15 minutes. However, I did install the app in my phone before I even bought the thing to look at the installation instructions, so I knew what I was getting into. Highly recommend doing that- it asks which wires you have and will tell you if the thing is compatible with your system. I have A/C, and gas heat, and no C-wire.Common issues I see in the bad reviews seem avoidable. You may need to put your Wi-Fi router into temporary 2.4GHz mode to connect, just like you have to do with other smart devices. Once it's connected the app will say it's offline for a minute or 2 but the wifi icon on the thermostat is still visible- I think it's just a lag while your info is uploading to their server. I closed out of the app and reopened it a minute later and was good to go.Easily connected to Google home assistant and Alexa. Alexa doesn't have control features in the Alexa app like Google does I the Home app. But you can say "set the A/C to 72" and it works instantly on both.In the app it shows current indoor temp, and basic current weather condition outdoors as well as indoor humidity which was a nice surprise- I don't have a hygrometer so that's great. There are settings for the stuff people complained about here โ a setting to set a temp differential since the unit does seem to be warmer than the air, a setting to slow down or (speed up) cycling if the room temp isn't stable. There's a setting to turn off the backlight so it isn't bright at night. The thermostat interface is very basic for better or for worse. There are just 3 spots to touch on the thermostat itself, right of the display. Up and down, to set the temp, and the third, between the arrows, is the "mode" (unlabeled) signified by with three dots. Touch once to see what temp it's currently set to. Touch again and the mode will switch from heat to a/c or back. I'd just prefer to be able to touch again to go back to the current temp but instead you have to wait a moment for it to go back to default display to see that touching it again will switch modes. Minor annoyance is that you can't turn the fan on from there, which is also an inconvenience for people in the home without the app. And of course any scheduling needs to be done in the app, which is fine with me.Anyway this is long but I hope that helps someone. I'll update if it all goes to schitt lol

Poor connectivity
I have a home that was built in 2006 and I work in a technical field (engineer) so I am familiar with troubleshooting hardware/software problems. Anyway, my problems with this unit started immediately. During installation, one is supposed to note the letter codes that the existing thermostat is connected to so that the new thermostat can be notified (via wifi and on app on your phone) how to program its terminals to match the original thermostat's functionality. Unfortunately, my existing wire connection was not recognized as being valid by the app (even though my home is relatively new, has a C wire and works properly with the original controller). I didn't let the this deter to me as I was sure I could fine a setup that would work through a little trial/error and voltage measurement. I was able to program my thermostat the first time without any issues; however, the setup I entered didn't work (system produced heat when it should have been cold), so I tried to reprogram the thermostat for a 2nd try. When I searched for my wifi network on the app, I was informed that no networks could be found, which was strange since all my other devices (computers, tablets, TVs, etc) had no issues connecting to my wifi. No problem I thought because I was given the option of entering the name of a network manually, which I did. After entering the name I was asked to enter the network's password twice, which is also strange since double entry is typically required for setting up online accounts, but not for connecting to your own wifi. Anyway, I entered the password twice and things seemed to be okay for a short time, but then the app kept informing me that it was losing its connection to the thermostat. I put the thermostat in "setup" mode by pressing the mode button for 4 seconds, but the thermostat would only stay in setup mode for a few seconds, and whenever it popped out of setup mode, the app would lose its connection again. What was really frustrating is that every time I tried to change the setup, I had to enter the network name and the password twice, which is pretty dumb for a "smart" device! I fought the system for about 2 hours and I was finally able to get another setup programmed, but that one didn't work either. At this point I decided I was done fighting the thing and I returned it. Again, I'm a competent technical person and my heat pump is relatively new and in good working condition. If I can't get it working smoothly, I don't think many others will be able to either. Perhaps I just had a lemon, but my advice is to steer clear of this finicky little monster.

Easy to use and works great!
This was purchased for a church building where areas are unoccupied at various times. This first purchase was a trial. The heating system is hot water with a central boiler serving several zones. We found this thermostat much easier to install and program than a previous brand we had we had tried to use. It connected easily with our existing Wi-Fi. For our system (heat only) it required a โCโ wire but fortunately the existing wiring contained a wire we could repurpose. We havenโt used the early start feature yet weโve just estimated the time to achieve the set temperature and programmed the system to come on soon enough to achieve it. A conversation we had with the the help line informed us that the thermostat will learn the time needed to achieve the correct temperature. The one call to the help line was very useful. The wait to be connected was fairly long, 15 minutes or so, but the gentleman was very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions we asked. We have also emailed a question and received an answer but the response is slow.Weโre pleased with the appearance of the unit it looks very solid and itโs not obtrusive and it is also easy to read. We also like the fact it can be locked to prevent unauthorized adjustment. It has been convenient and easy to install the app on multiple phones and nice to be able to check and adjust programs remotely. It is also nice that it connects to some weather information and displays the outside temperature.Itโs great to have the room at a comfortable temperature when you expect it to be.We will also connect the a/c system to it later which now runs on a separate device. We have been pleased with the unit and have ordered two more for other areas.

This is a good thermostat that will meet the vast majority of expectations and needs.
I've had this thermostat installed about 2 weeks now. I installed it with the White-Rogers wall plate which I highly recommend. It makes for a nice clean installation. I decided to move the location of my thermostat, so I also purchased a length of 5 conductor 18 gauge wire. The installation was very straight forward. WIFI setup was simple and the app connected just fine. The most work for me was running the new wiring. I have an electronics background so connecting it to the AC/Furnace was not a big deal. You may need to call your AC tech if you want to do this as well.I am really pleased with this thermostat. I tried the more sophisticated and expense ones prior to purchasing this one. I really like the simplicity of this thermostat. It has fewer options than the more expensive units but to be honest, that is a blessing. The touchscreen makes manual operation very simple. Touch one location to change between off/AC/Heat/Fan Only modes and then touch the up or down arrow to set the desired temp. I found the temperature to be very accurate and within 1/2 a degree of several manual A/C Service thermometers. It worked right out of the box with no necessary changes to the few parameters that can be set.Connection to my WIFI and the app was straight forward and worked first again. Again, I like the simplicity of the app. I really like that the background of the app changes from gray to blue and red corresponding with off/Cooling/Heating the thermostat is calling for. The app does allow for a basic 7 day schedule. It's very intuitive and simple to set up and use.I do wish it had the color display of its bigger and more expensive brothers, but that's the way it goes. That is where the price differential comes into play. The display is large and easy to read from a reasonable distance. I am 72 with diminished eyesight and my favorite chair is about 12 feet from the thermostat and I can read it just fine. But it doesn't really matter as with the app I can see and control the temperature from anywhere in the world. The app also shows relative humidity which isn't a big deal but a nice touch.Pros:Very nice looking, especially with the wall plate behind it.Super Easy to installEasy to use manuallyEasy to use and program through the app3 levels of temperature toleranceCons:Would like a color display that is available on more expensive units.

Accurate and easy to install
Installation was over quickly, wiring straightforward and easy. I liked the humidity of the home on my phone display. The child lock was great to have also to stop Nana from adjusting the temperature. Looks great, not overly complicated and over priced. Large numbers easy to see from a distance. Hooked up to my WiFi the first time and no issues. I have gas heating and central air no compatibility issues. I tested out the temperature display with another thermometer and it was accurate.

Fantastic deal for $$, EASY to DIY install w/ great video & app instructions.
I am impressed. First of all, watch the installation video in the item listing in Amazon. It is the first video for this Sensi Lite Smart Thermostat and it could not be anymore thorough than it is. If you want step by step it is that and logical. Then the app itself does the same thing, step by step as well. These folks actually cover all the bases. I know a lot about a lot of this but not AC and heating. It went off without a hitch, I have an old 4 wire system with no C wire and what is really cool is BEFORE YOU EVEN BUY you can d/l the app, go to the step as if you are installing a new one, go where you identify the wires on your old thermostat and it will tell you if it will work for you if you are not sure. I had this thing on, up, and connected to wifi and running in about 10-15 minutes, no issues. The only thing that concerned me was I was reading reviews before buying it and some people complained about it losing connectivity frequently. Only 3 minutes after installing that happened one time, and as I was reading the re-connect instructions it prompts you to, then it reconnected on its own before I could do it. For all I know that could have been my wifi burping, it does sometimes. >>IF<< I have that as a recurring issue I will be returning it because my router has plenty of reach and several devices further from it than this thermostat never lose connection. We shall see. I am just trying to give a full picture, I have no complaints but that was the primary reasonable one I saw in the negative reviews. So far I love the thing, the display is very cool, most of the time I will be bumping it manually walking by and that is a piece of cake. I have old eyes and appreciate the large numbers on the display too. I also like I can adjust it remotely from 4 states over as well. Honestly if you just want a remote app and basic functions with a schedule (I won't use) I don't know about all these others that cost way more why you would buy one of those. It is also nice looking. Oh yeah, it works on Alexa and other voice control things I also do not use. I think you get a lot of bang for the buck on this.

WiFi not working
I love how sleek, modern and minimal this looks. Itโs simple to function. I like how easy this was to install. It came with screws, a backing plate that has a level built in, the wires were easy to connect and everything fits. It sits flush in my wall. You will need your own tools to install though. This device was easy to connect to the internet. Also, you will need to download an app but I love that it doesnโt take you through a long process to sign up. The app is simple to use. In the app I love that I can set times for my A/C or heat to run. It even has a slow start option so that I can turn on the air/heat and let it gradually come to temperature. That will help my new HVAC unit last for years to come. However my internet runs well in my household but because of the poor WiFi connection issues with this device, I will not purchase again or recommend. The WiFi connectivity is part is a huge deal breaker for me.

Replaces my brivis network thermostat with this unit
I managed to get this working with my old brivis gas heating unit. This thermostat need C wire for gas heating.Old thermostat had only two wires. But the heater unit had C wire built-in which I rewired to connect to this thermostat to make it work.Setup is very straightforward. It's being one month since I installed and working perfectly.Happy with thr product so far.Note that this is a US product and it has US units and location/ weather information is only related to US or Canada. But I use Alexa and Google Home to align with my location in AU.

Works very well
Works great. Love the Wi-Fi connectivity and being able to adjust remotely. Great for referring the temperature when coming home from a trip

Can't use outside Canada and US
This shouldn't be sold globally. You can't use it as a smart device outside Canada and the US.

Unit keeps loosing the wifi signal
Worst price ever. Do not waste your time II purchased two of these units. I had them professionally installed. Both units keep loosing the wifi signal. This is very annoying when trying to manage the heat from the app when not home. In order to re-connect the wifi , I must detach the unit take out the battery's and re-install them. The units do not allow me to connect to wi-fi from the menu option on the unit. This is a very frustrating unit and 50% of the time it is off line. I cannot get the ap to switch modes from heat to cool. No options given on ap. No product support.
