Very soft and cushioned, but if you have very small hands, these weights will be somewhat hard to hold.

I needed light weights like these to exercise my arm after rotator cuff surgery on my shoulder. These do the job. The neoprene fabric will not be as durable as steel weights. But I will not need them after I complete physical therapy. And in the meantime they are easy to handle, attractive, soft to the touch and make no noisy clatter like steel weights.

These are great if you have issues gripping things. I had originally gotten these as a starter set for my mom. I figured she could start at the 1lb and I could use the 3lb. If you are doing simple work outs these might work but if you get more intense and doing different movements (I follow many HASfit videos on Youtube if you want to get an idea of what I mean) and some of those require you to hold the ends of the weights. The issue is the sand inside shifts to the middle and becomes a distraction and I am constantly shifting the sand around. The quality seems fine for the short time I've had them. I've checked the weights and they seem accurate. Great for very beginner, injury, elderly but otherwise I recommend traditional kind.

I had back surgery and one of the exercises the physical therapist recommended included using 1 pound weights in my extended hands. This set looked good and I'm really happy I chose it. I've been using the 1 pound weights and when graduate to 2 pounds I'll already have them thanks to this set. The hand straps are adjustable (no need to worry about size), the sand filled weights are comfortable to hold and the complete set appears to be very well made.

These three different weights if my purpose exactly. Well made, durable and comfortable. Arrived on time and with care!
