I love how soft and buttery these pastels are. They are VERY easy to blend and helps makes my drawings pop. There are a wide variety of colors in this set. For the money, I am very happy with the quality. These pastels have been fun to play with and have sparked my muse.

These are great. I own carandache which are harder to blend in my opinion, I use them more for the watercolor effect but the montmarte are just so soft and blendable on their own, they spread nicely both with fingers or blending stump. The natural hues selection is beautiful for botanicals, beautiful greens.

I almost didn’t order them because I was skeptical; they were in my cart for weeks. But I finally decided to take the chance, and I’m glad I did. The tradeoff is that they smell like cheap lipstick. The colors are vibrant and they are opaque (except for the neons). When I opened the box, there were a few that were jumbled around in the lower tray. None were broken or missing. They’re so soft that they did smudge each other a bit - but that’s nothing a paper towel can’t fix. These pastels blend like a dream. Did I say that already? It’s worth saying twice. In fact, here’s once more for good measure. They. Blend. Like. A. Dream. Bonus points for the color selection. I have the 120 Mungyo Gallery artist’s extra soft pastels too, and this set of Mont Marte ones fill the color gaps really nicely. Especially in the pastel colors which is great for highlights. Normally I don’t like metallic or pearls, which Mr. Marte must have been aware of, as there are only three in this set. A pearl white, silver, and gold, and the gold is *incredible*. Overall, i think the only thing that rats them out as a lower price brand is the wrapper on the sticks. Some are a bit loose or unevenly pasted. Nothing that affects the art, just a small annoyance. I haven’t looked into lightfastness ratings, which I know is a concern for a few people out there. If you’re a professional artist who sells your work, this is something you might want to test or write an email to them to ask. I’m really glad I decided to buy these pastels. I’m really enjoying them. The lipstick smell does seem to fade over time, or maybe I am becoming blind to it. At any rate: they’re worth it. And in case I failed to mention — they blend like a dream.

Haven't found any others that have the softness of these and the only ones I gift to/recommend to my students and other artists. I do wish these sets contained more of the traditional colors, as many colors are missing from each color and too many "off" colors. Otherwise, 5 stars.

This set has a beautiful array of vibrant colors!! They go on the canvas looking like crayon, but the beautiful magic happens when you blend them!! Let me just say, that the blendability is absolutely amazing!!! The finished product looks like you actually painted it onto the canvas with a brush!! These are so very smooth and buttery, but not near as messy as some other brands! I highly recommend trying out these oil pastels!!! I promise you, you will NOT be disappointed!!! I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love these soft pastels! They blend very easy and are creamy. The pigment is super nice too,very rich colors. I have already ordered more ❤️

These pastels are so soft, I have bought many brands in this price range and these are definitely much higher quality than the rest. I ended up buying a much larger set from this brand after using these. These colors are so beautiful, it’s a nice palette to work with. They blend easily and work well with a palette knife as well. Once I have something worth sharing I’ll update my review with a photo 😊

Je suis vraiment ravie de cet achat ! Les couleurs sont belles, bien pigmentées et surtout très faciles à estomper pour créer des dégradés et des effets de lumière. Elles permettent de travailler aussi bien les détails que les grandes zones. J’aime particulièrement le rendu doux et lumineux qu’elles donnent aux dessins. Elles se mélangent facilement entre elles et permettent de corriger ou d’intensifier les couleurs au fur et à mesure. Je prends énormément de plaisir à les utiliser et le résultat est vraiment sympa. Pour le prix, je trouve que c’est un très bon rapport qualité/prix. Un achat que je recommande sans hésiter ! 😊
