Quality stitching and nice thick, but soft leather. Feels amazing. Fits my pockets, but may not fit all, as It does add some bulk. Smells strongly of natural leather, in the best way. No chemical smells or anything weird. Fit and finish is superb 10/10. It’s definitely handmade, and looks great, worth it, in my opinion.

Fits perfectly in the back pocket of jeans. Great everyday note book that holds your pens.

I’ve bought a lot of small leather goods over the years, but this Field Notes cover instantly became one of my favorites. The leather quality is way better than I expected at this price — thick enough to feel durable, soft enough to age nicely, and that slight natural texture just makes it feel premium in hand. The fit is perfect for my 3.5x5.5 notebooks. Slides in without fighting, stays secure, and doesn’t bulk up my pocket. The pen holder is a huge win too — finally something that doesn’t stretch out or feel cheap. I carry this daily and the stitching hasn’t frayed at all. It’s become my go-to EDC journal setup for everything: quick notes at work, sketching ideas, planning out my day, even travel. It looks better every week as it breaks in. If the brand sees this: I’d happily test any new colors, upgraded leather, or zipper/strap versions in the future. This is genuinely one of the better small-leather accessories I’ve picked up. Keep making stuff like this. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates good EDC gear or wants a clean way to carry a pocket notebook.

I recently started carrying a Field Notes notebook for an experiment in organization and productivity. I needed a case, and my requirements are pretty simple. Black leather (real leather, not pleather). Pen loop(s). Holds 1 or more Field Notes. This cover works for what I want. The leather seems to be good quality. The stitching is neat, but isn't saddle stitched. Appears to be machine stitched. I'd love to see 2 horizontal card slots on the left side, under the pen holders. At first the closure was bothering me, but I'm getting used to it.

Very spongy leather. After a few months drying out and treating with mink oil, good looking cover. Full sized pens are a little large, so I keep a Fisher astronaut compact pen in the cover.

Much higher quality than expected. It is beautiful and well-crafted. You will NOT be disappointed. If you are thinking about it, buy and enjoy it for a long time to come!!!

Room for a couple field notes journals and pens. Makes it easy to keep my journal close at hand and it feels protective enough that I don’t worry about tossing it in my gear bag. Plus it looks cool. Good quality leather.
