Plantation Candy, One Pound Gift Bags (Molasses Sponge)

We’ve been looking for this old fashioned candy everywhere and we’re so glad to find it. We bought this for a gift for a sister who remembers our grandparents always having these peach blossoms in a candy dish at Christmastime in the 60’s and 70,s. This tastes just like we remembered. The candy was well wrapped and not broken during shipping. We highly recommend it, it’s worth the price.

I really like these, it's like the inside of some of the honeycomb candy I used to get but without the chocolate coating. If you suck on them you have to be careful of the sharp ridges that develop. I learned that trick long ago because I would suck off the chocolate to get to this part. The ridges are fragile so you could knock them down and keep sucking but at this point I usually chomp. The trouble with chomping (and you get an nice burst of flavor when you chomp) is that they will stick to your teeth. If you might have a loose filling, be wary of the chomp. After it's broken down to get away from the sharp ridges I have it stuck to my teeth. I want to keep chewing but I have decades of expensive dental work in my mouth so I go back to sucking.So, that's my recommendation: suck till it gets sharp, crunch till the sharp edges are gone and go back to sucking! I would like an even stronger molasses flavor but maybe that's just me.

I was glad I ordered these, because they are so good. The one downside is they are very expensive. I love the honeycomb crunch.

I have been trying to find this candy for a long time, ever since my high school days fund raising years. I loved it then and it’s the same delicious candy as back then. The candy coating outside with the deliciously peanut butter inside. Don’t ever stop making it, it’s awesome! I’m ordering more. Thankyou, Linda

I have been trying to find these for my 92 to aunt and my mother who both enjoyed these a lot and have had no luck finding any locally.Sadly they arrived solidly stuck together in the package to the point that I cut my finger trying to pry them apart. I had to beat them on the counter to break them up.Upon taste testing them, they tasted a bit stale and stuck to my teeth in a big lump. The flavor is there, but these definitely aren't the same as the ones I ate as a kid. Definitely won't be ordering again, sadly. I had high hopes
