I absolutely love the way the water tastes and smells. I've studied water in re to nutrition, as well as diet in relation to healing. So, I'm not a certified expert but I have studied both sides of things extensively, which is more than I can say for most experts. I would first like to address the many reviews stating they couldn't get the pH over 8.5 or that they used a test strip. There is absolutely no reason to get water above a 8.0 rating; anything over that means it will taste bitter and could cause skin problems. While avoiding acidic water is important for health, the fastest way to alkalize your body is actually by eating lots of raw whole fruits and vegetables and avoiding animal products. You can also raise your pH by squeezing lemon into your water (which raises your pH but not the water’s pH). But that aside, water really should not be above 8.0; 7 is ideal. Secondly, test strips are not meant to measure the pH of water. Even those that say they can be used for water are only meant to be a guide and does not make the user an instant expert. If you want to test the pH of water with a strip, drink only water from one source for 24 hours (no eating or drinking except the water) and measure your urine on the strip every few hours. If it progressively shows more alkaline in the final 12 hours, you've got your answer. Any time you’re measuring pH, if your urine consistently 8 or above you may have a serious health condition, such as acidosis, and should see a medical professional; high pH in the urine could be a sign that your body is depleting your internal sources, such as bone, to balance the pH, which your body constantly strives to be between 6.5 & 7. In the a.m. it will be the most acidic and not a true indication of your body's health or the health of the water. So, don't test the first morning urine unless you want to raise your stress levels. Simple research will confirm what I've said here. So, back to my personal review of the product: My first choice is distilled because it removes every contaminate -- it's the re-creation of natural purification (before the atmosphere was toxic in some parts of the world). However, I currently travel a lot and it's inconvenient to keep buying gallons, or refill jugs at a machine (Reverse Osmosis was 2nd choice). So, having a lot of bug out gear, I began to wonder if just using my Sawyer water straw and filling gallons in my hotel room from tap would be acceptable. However, that is more for survival sources to remove bacteria and microbes, and doesn't diminish fluoride or do anything to raise the pH. So, I began to research and found pH On The Go. After researching how the filtration takes place I was interested to try it. Since I'm starting with tap water & there's no need to worry about killing microbes, I felt this would be the next best thing to Distilled and maybe even a step above in some aspects because of raising the pH and bringing the water closer to a structured or original form. I received these almost a week ago and haven't purchased a bottle of water since. I absolutely love the way the water tastes and smells and I can feel the pH level in my mouth, although I haven't actually used a gauge (but for me it's not necessary). I'm thrilled at how convenient and successful these little pouches are. It doesn't just taste better, it feels really good in my mouth. I process the water in one container, pour it into a 2nd 27 oz container and then refill the one with the pouch. I don't time it since it works quickly -- for me, about 15 minutes gets most the chlorine smell out, 20 min is golden, depending on how chlorinated your water source is. But I did try this is a 2 gallon decanter and with the little pouch it took more than 8 hours to get the smell out. I can only assume it has to do with the lack of circulation in that large amount of water. The little pouches are definitely best for smaller containers If I'm hiking, I just take the one container with the pouch and refill it as necessary (from drinking fountains or so forth). I haven't removed it from the container so far, just keep it in there with at least a little water to cover the pouch. I literally want to buy a set for everyone I know. For one thing, most people buy "purified" water and that is just tap water filtered through a charcoal filter to get the smell out, usually. You may as well drink tap and plug your nose. “Spring” water is not much better and the FDA only requires a small portion of the water to actually come from a spring, by that definition. I think this is an amazing product. I'm guessing that with regular use, I'll be able to tell when it's time to get a new pouch. But for now I'm keeping a rough estimate of how many gallons I'm using. I work in a historical building in DC with less than stellar plumbing and the hard-lined water cooler I have to fill my bottle from is an improvement over the tap but still has that slightly tangy dingy metallic aftertaste. Within a minute or so of putting this little filter bag into a 40oz bottle, the metallic taste is totally gone. Not sure how to explain that doesn't sound hinky but I'm very pleased with the product and will purchase again when this one wears out. So far have used the same filter bag in about ten refills of the 40oz bottle and it still seems to be very effective at neutralizing the unpleasant qualities of the water at work. Had a slight powdery residue before first use but I do not rinse it prior to use and noticed no grit or anything in the water. Update: After using this product for the past several months, I have a couple things to say: This is the third time I am buying this product - I find it continually and impressively effective at improveing the taste ( and thus am assuming the quality) of the water I drink at work and home. With regularly use (for me, thats about 2 fills of a 40 ounce bottle, 4-5 days per week) the filter is very effective for about two to three weeks and gradually you will notice the water taste improvement lessen over the third and fourth week. Therefore I use about 1 filter per month, 2 if my husband uses one as well. And lastly, I haven't had to remove or dry the filter between uses. I occasionally set it aside to wash the hydroflask bottle but then put it right back in with water and have noticed no scent or tatse to suggest that it might spoil, mildew or mold. Being mineral based this makes sense but just an additional observation.

Been using since '23. They are perfect for a large metal jug to go. The water is pristeen! HOWEVER--WARNING!!!! DO NOT EMPTY A VESSEL WITH ONE OF THESE POUCHES INSIDE, INTO A SINK WITH A GARBAGE DISPOSAL! IT WILL RUIN IT!! Ask me how I know? My pouch had broken inside the jug. When I emptied the ice, all the beads came out everywhere, and right down the garbage disposal. Be sure before you empty that jug friend. Be safe and use the other side of the sink.

I'm a cancer survivor with a compromised immune system. My doctor advised me to drink clean, filtered water with electrolytes in it. I'm a disabled senior citizen on a tight budget, and purchasing it in bottles was too expensive. When I found On-The-Go (3-pack of 30g) at Amazon, I was thrilled! The little On-The-Go see-thru sacks remind me of the large tea bags I use to make my iced tea. I have a Brita pitcher that I use first to filter my well water. I have a gallon-sized BPA-free bottle I call Steep Bottle. After I rinse a new OTG sack in a glass of water for a minute or two, I push the sack into the Steep Bottle. Then I pour a gallon of my Brita water into Steep Bottle with the OTG sack. I place Steep Bottle into the frig and let it do its magic for 4 hours. (It may also work fine if you steep it overnight as I read where someone else does. I just ordered a PH digital reader so I can see what the PH levels reach after 4 hours and will revise this review if needed). So after the steeping process, I pour all of the electrolyte water into another BPA-free bottle labeled "OTG Water" for storage. I take the empty Steep Bottle (with the OTG sack safely inside) and store it inside the frig for the next day's use. I also store the gallon of OTG Water in the frig for use throughout the day. I'm delighted to know that I can use the one sack for 60 gallons! All I can say is, so far the taste is awesome (I use my OTG Water to make my ice cubes, coffee, and tea, and I cook with it). I'm very glad I found this awesome, healthy product!

I have been looking to increase intake of alkaline water for reflux. The products that drop into my own container(s) appeal to me more than a big pitcher with brand specific filters and are more convenient than buying bottled alkaline water from the store ( and those plastic bottles! what a waste!). I have purchased other brands, and returned to due to lack of performance. So far have treated 3 quarts of water with the "pH ON-The-GO Alkaline Water Filter Pouch" and checked the pH with test drops, and the results match with the store bought 9-10 pH bottled water. The mouth feel is the same as the bottled alkaline water, takes time to get used to it. Takes about 30 minutes to treat 32 oz of water from a well source and water softener. I learned a few things: -pH test strips are not useful for testing water pH, use test drops and -treated alkaline water exposed to the air ( and carbon dioxide) will naturally become more acidic again. Although, after sitting in my car for 6 hours in a double wall stainless steel thermos with excellent lid, the pH was still near 9. I am super satisfied with this product.

I purchased them in April, and am still using the same pouches in August. I test my water with a digital pH meter before pouring into my gallon jug for storage or on-the-go bottle. I have also used a digital TDS meter to verify that the water was actually containing alkalizing deposits. I start with Deer Park spring water; it usually tests around 8.3. First of all, I let the water sit as long as it needs to in order to alkalize, regardless of the misleading instructions. When the pouches are new, then they work most quickly. Over time, they take longer, but definitely work. I use all three pouches in three different bottles to maximize my alkaline water reserve. The smaller the bottle, the faster the water will alkalize. I use a 16 oz., a 24 oz., and a 32 oz. bottle. At this point, I drink alkalized water exclusively if it comes from home because of these pouches making it cost effective. I consume around 100 ounces per day because of my body size and activity. A good guess is (your body weight / 2 = ounces per day). Every morning, I test each bottle after letting each sit overnight. I transfer the water from the bottles with pouches, pour it into my jug and refill the bottles with the pouches so that they can take the time that they need to alkalize. The water averages about 9.5, sometimes more or less. I leave it in there if it's less than 9.0, that's my personal choice. Test it every time with a digital meter and don't rush them. These will save you money if you truly are interested in drinking alkaline water and reducing the cost. I recommend pH On-The-Go Alkaline Water Pouches. Take the time and you won't regret purchasing them. These work, period.

When traveling a don't like the taste of the water at the airport drinking fountain. Or traveling overseas not sure about the filter system when getting my water out of the public fountains. Since I've been using this product. for my drinking water tastes great and I know why water is filter . I've had no problems and haven't got sick because of the water. Honestly, I've been very surprised at how well these do. Normally, when I do long water fast,s I am quite lethargic, but since adding this to my RO water, I've noticed that during a fast, I have tons of energy so these are for sure remineralizing the water with most electrolytes. I also really enjoy the taste it give,s and certainly gives me more energy day to day as well.

The change in the taste of the water is incredible. I just love it. The water tastes better so you drink more of it. All good!!

I'm generally acidic and don't like drinking water so hoped this easy to use product would help in both these ways. The water definitely tasted better; lighter somehow, not so heavy. The sachet had shiny bubbles around it when it was first immersed into the water. In a couple of days however, I noticed a white residue at the bottom of the jug and therefore washed the jug and replaced it with fresh water and re-immersed the alkaline sachet into it. The taste of the water wasn't the same as the first time around. The shiny bubbles around the sachet was missing as well. I'm still drinking the water and will have a better sense of whether to purchase again after using the next 2 remaining sachets that come as a package.

The filters seem great and I love the product. I for some reason assumed the bottle was necessary to use the product when in fact you could use these filters with any product. It would make sense to me that the associated bottle would have a built in filter spot for the pH on the go filters but that was just an assumption of mine and I realize there was no marketing stating that. Still to soon to say but I've ordered more filters and plan to continue to invest in this product line
