Cat doesn’t like them! But they do the job intended

I needed to clip my Mastiffs claws due to not going out due to the lockdown.These clippers arrived next day and the brief instructions on the reverse of the packaging told me all I wanted and needed to know. I did watch a couple of YouTube videos just to back up the instructions and give me more confidence when attempting this for the first time.The cutters are amazingly comfortable to hold and use, which makes the job easier.The metal plate behind the blades limits how much you can cut at any one time which is a life saver !!I managed to do all of the claws in no time - the blades are very sharp and caused no discomfort to my dog. I am very impressed and would recommend these to anyone. If I can use them straight out of the box, then anyone can and you won’t be disappointed. The handles are comfortable and have loads of grip (you don’t want to have them slipping when you have you dogs paw in your hands), the blades cut in one (no “several passes” to work your way through the claw !) - one snip and it’s gone !All in all 100% ! I would buy them again, they will last me a lifetime, but I would buy them again as a gift to other dog owners - they are that good !!

The guard on my old clippers didn't quite completely go behind the jaws when fully open so there was the slight possibility that I could put my Jack Russel's claws through too far. The guard on these was exactly the same. There is a tiny groove so the guard can be moved out of the way but it still doesn't completely cover the gap. I forced the guard into the right place but either I'm doing something wrong or there is a design flaw with these sort of clippers. Apart from that the jaws are much wider than my old ones and cut her claws ok, provided she stops struggling long enough for me to cut them! Nice soft handles as well.

Good so far

I bought these as a replacement for my old guillotine pair which weren't wide enough for some of my dog's claws and eventually fell apart.These are more like secateurs and are sharp. My old German Shepherd has nails as thick as pencils and these managed to get through them (after the usual wrestling).I took a star off as the ends of the clippers are quite large and round meaning that they're hard to get into smaller spaces. One of my dog's dew claws grows at an odd angle and I wasn't able to get the end of the clippers underneath. Tip - use a thick emery board if you can't use the clippers or to get sharp bits smooth.

Sturdy and sharp, no problems

I was pleased to find that these nail clippers were not too big to use on a 13 week old Whippet puppy..I got her used to having her toes handled from 9 weeks, gently holding them and putting pressure on her nails with my fingers so she was used to having her feet ''Attended to''... when the clippers arrived, it was very easy to clip her nails with these, taking small cuts to ensure the quick wasn't caught.Being very sharp , they don't 'Crush' the nails.

I bought these due to the ridiculous vet prices just to get my cats nails trimmed. He is a polydactyl cat so trimming them can be tricky and sometimes painful for him. These nail trimmers worked a treat as he didn’t feel a thing but a set of instructions would of been helpful as we were confused as how to use them but got the hang of it in the end.
