Leather Clip Watch, Military Dial, Waterproof

This watch hangs on a belt loop under my blouse and is very easy to read. I don't like wearing watches so this fits the bill nicely. I may buy another one someday, that's how much I like it. My husband likes it too, so I'm watching it closely to make sure it doesn't "disappear". As far as keeping time accurately, it's too soon to tell. Someday I will update with durability and accuracy.Update Oct. 14, 2015: The watch stopped working about a month ago and I'm trying to remove the cover to change the battery, with no success. It did keep very good time and was convenient, but alas, I now need a professional to replace the battery.Update Oct. 15, 2015: We found the battery for $4 and change at Rite Aid - Duracell 377 - (there are lots of places that sell it) and it took a whole day to install it (after struggling to get the cover off, insert the battery, and replace the cover). I credit my husband for persisting in his efforts to get this done. I first detached the leather holder with a dental tool (you could use a safety pin). To get the cover off my husband used a 1/8th" slim heavy duty screwdriver blade. Then, with a glove on, I delicately inserted the battery by sliding it under one side of the round holder, making sure the gold-colored metal piece sticking up was pushed down underneath it. My husband then placed the plastic piece in, making sure the notch went where the time stem was. Then he put cover on and made sure the tiny notch went where the time stem was. To put the cover on was sheer genius on my husband's part because he knows how to use tools very well. He took a 1 1/4" ID pipe about 1" long and placed the watch face in it (when he used pliers he scratched the chrome surface - doesn't recommend that approach). The he used a 4" C-clamp and screwed it on until the cover literally "popped". We don't believe that cover can ever come off unless a screwdriver is used, but I'll keep updating this if that ever happened. I am still giving this watch 5 stars because of its keeping time and holder and convenience, but as far as changing the battery - holy cow - probably a 1 star for that until you know how to do it. I thank my husband profusely for figuring it out. I'm not even sure a "professional" could have done this. I probably would have bought another brand of watch with a similar holder and put this away until my frustration with it went away.

This is my second of this (I lost the first one after 3 years). Neither the carabiner or strap failed on that one, so I expect good life out of this one. It's classy looking; well-finished.• Good strap, thick and durable, well-stitched leather (yes, it's real leather, just stiff and color coated). It can be easily bent to adjust the time (just squeeze it -- see photo), so I don't find that an issue as negative reviewers did. Though the adjustment knob is somewhat stiff out of the box.• Decent little carabiner.• Watch is steel and keeps time well, if a bit heavy for my use (hiking), but that's not an issue in town. The crystal is glass.• Watch is replaceable -- a big plus -- as the strap on my last one lasted through 2 replacement watches (I broke them all, being very hard on the gear). Personally, I think the strap is the real value here.• Water-resistant -- specs say to 3 atmospheres (that would be 90'). I've soaked mine in the rain, but not depth tested.Recommended. 5 stars at this price point ($26 for black).

I don't really care to wear a wrist watch anymore, but I find that it is time consuming to pull out the cell phone every time I want to know the time. This is a great compromise. I wear it attached to a belt loop. When I sit down, the watch falls into a position which is easy to read, just by glancing down at my lap.I like a lot of what the Dakota company is producing now, but I am not a big fan of putting the LED light into the watch, as on other designs. This is a basic design, but it does have a second hand and the dots do glow in the dark. To get to the back cover of the watch, for battery changes, you remove the clip and the watch flips away from the backing tab, giving you full access to the back of the watch, without having to remove pins. This has the date feature as well.I'd prefer this had a leather tab, but the vinyl 'fake leather' looks OK.Overall, a classy design. Well built, for the price range. I definitely recommend it.

I ordered the "black" version but was sent a brown one instead. There is absolutley nothing black pn this watch; the leather fob is brown, the dial of the watch is light tan color, and even the clip is silver. Judging by the product photos, they don't have a black version at all, at least the lesther fib apparently doesn't come in black leather.The order was delayed, and to add more to this frustrating process, Amazon is only giving me the extremely inconvenient option of sending it back via UPS. My guess is that they are doing this to make it difficult to send back so you end up giving up and not returning it. However, regardless of the price I paid plus the extra stumbling blocks Amazon is setting for me, I'm am determined to return this watch because it was listed incorrectly by the vendor.As for the watch itself, it is a very cheap watch with snapback rear case (like the ones you find on inexpensive "designer" watches). The leather fob is also cheaply assembled (I work with leather), and the finish is rough on the sides. Overall, this watch with fob isn't worth more than $20.00, so it's way overpriced for what you get.I definitely don't recommend this watch.

Worked great, I hung it in my purse. The battery did not last very long though.

C’est ma 2e DAKOTA. Bien-sûr ce n’est pas une montre de luxe, mais elle est durable et donne l’heure exacte. C’est ce que j’attends d’une montre. J’en ai commandé une autre, j’ai encore ma 1ère depuis 3 ans, sauf que je la porte à la chasse et j’ai égratigné la vitre du cadran.
