Pronto Seed Premium Grass Seeds 7kg - Covers 420m2

Had an area of shingle on top of a membrane, about 10 square meters we inherited when we moved to our house. We researched whether to use seed or turf. Locally turf would have cost around £100 so we opted for seed. We cleared the site, we didn't know what the soil was like under the membrane so we thought we'll just suck it and see. We dug the land over to a depth of around a foot and mixed in some Miracle Grow all-purpose compost, just to give the grass seed a helping hand. Laid the slabs on a cement base. Raked the area well and seeded the soil and gently raked again, shallow burying some of the seed. It was Spring when I started so I watered well twice a day on warm days and once on cooler days. On day 9 we started to see the brown shoots appearing, germination was quick. Within the next week we had short grass covering most of the seeded area, and with in 7 weeks it looked like it does in the picture, lush and green. What a total success costing just £33 for seed and compost. I highly recommend this seed, great value for money, quick growing and looks great. Just a word to the wise, we had to buy netting, the damned pigeons love the grass seed.

I can't believe these two pictures are only four weeks apart, but it's true. After the drought this summer I thought I'd have to regrow the entire lawn, so bought this seed in advance. After one day of (very welcome) rain I lightly scarified the lawn with a rake and threw some of the seed down to see what it would do. After one week it seemed to be growing, so I threw the rest of it down and boom! New lawn in just four weeks..! I literally did nothing with it other than breaking up the surface and chucking the seed down - I didn't even net it to keep the birds away, it just grew! I mowed it for the first time since April a couple of days ago and even the tricky bare spots from before have gone. I'm genuinely amazed at how good this seed is, and I've tried so many in the past that promised so much and delivered very little. P.S. the dog is fine, he was doing his best wheelbarrow impression across the garden for reasons best known to him... XD

This started growing in 6 days and is doing well, however if you're spreading it over bare earth it will never cover 84sqm - I got maybe 12-15sqm at best!

Really quick results (although perfect condition [warm & wet] Sep 26) first shoots within a week. Now looking excellent (used to oversow summer heat damage). Have bought another 'top up' pack just in case, hand sowing is not always even. Would highly recommend.

Definitely speedy seed. One week after putting this down it’s already 3-4 cms high. Best seed I’ve bought so far. Just placed another order for two more boxes EDIT: I know it’s been hot weather but the seed was put down well before. I did one half in the seed I had, then ordered this one. Grows really quickly as stated but, even though it’s been left longer for the heat we have had, the one side of my garden is green and growing well with original seed. This seed had grown well, but then turns a lime green in colour and no matter how much I water it, it’s died. Never had seed do this no matter the weather, as it’s watered accordingly.Been doing my lawn every year for past 25years. I will be returning to my original seed and put this loss of money(twice!) down to experience. Ouch

Delighted with this product. It gave my tired looking lawn a colourful green lift. It took a while to germinate in the summer heat, despite me watering it regularly, but probably not enough. Once the rains came it suddenly took off. My growing conditions are far from perfect, but that's the fault of my lawn, not the seed, and I was pleased how well the seed took despite me not being able to prep the ground as thoroughly as I would have liked. It's quite a forgiving seed therefore and looks lush when it comes through.

This is the best grass seed I have ever used , it is very fast at germinating , it is so easy to use . I have been using this for several years now mainly to maintain my lawns where there’s wear and tear and from my dogs staining and killing the grass off. I have used it mixed in with compost after preparing the ground and also used it directly onto the area without compost, both ways have proved to be successful in growing strong healthy grass.

Have just put this seed down to rejuvenate a 3 year neglected, untended lawn in Ireland. Cut the 2ft grass down, took as many weeds out as possible then spread the seed and the rain came for a soak. Fingers crossed the weatherman has it right and light rain will continue before sunshine in five days time. Should have grass growing in 7-14 days according to the box. Seed was of good size and consistent in colour. Happy so far.

It's ok
