Very happy with this scan tool. I first became aware of xtools due to a great review from YouTuber that I like. I’ve owned several scan tools over the years (former mechanic now wrenching part time) and this is the best I’ve used. This replaced my Autel mx 900. It’s an upgrade in every way. It’s super fast, the bidirectional features are fantastic. Excellent interface. I had a bit of trouble initially getting it to register and download updates but the customer service was great and got me set up in no time. I haven’t tried the ecu coding yet but very happy and the price is right. Even price independent I think it’s one of the best you can get, best I’ve used anyway.

Well worth the cost. If you want clarification on what a particular code means, it allows you to access the internet through wifi and read detailed explanations, what parts you are likely to need and possible causes right from the tool without spending time on your phone or computer doing research. It can read live data while your vehicle is running which gives you the ability to not only check temps and pressures but to track down those irritating faults that come and go when your mechanic is not around. Saving tons of money by not having to guess what part is faulty and changing out good parts in hope that it will fix the problem is likely to pay for the scanner on your first use. It can also send a detailed report by email. This allows you to let your mechanic know the problem before you ever leave your house. It also let's you prevent anyone from padding the bill by replacing unnecessary parts. I had an issue with scanner and the XTOOL representative got me straightened out in no time. They explained what I was doing wrong and how to do it right. They were prompt and pleasant. I would not hesitate to do business with XTOOL again. This is how things used to be.

The tool works well for quick jobs but I have had issues since day 1 trying to do long drive tests, data graphing, etc. I thought potentially the issue was with the ECM on the first car but I have since tried recording a ~5 minute drive on multiple vehicles and the connection to the vehicle breaks after about 1 minute in all cases. Their support was helpful when I first asked how to navigate the non-intuitive menus to diagnose misfires on a Ford vehicle. But when I brought up the connection issues I have gone 2 months without a reply. I reached out directly to their support with my problem and order number with no reply as well as on amazon.
