A: Not sure what you mean by chopper blade. You can cut a potato into quarters and then run it through. the blade is adjustable so you can cut things to various thickness as you want.

We made sourkrout with the cutter .It's amazing. I can wait to try it on all kinds of veggies. It sure takes the work out of it. And cleans up great . No more back breaking sourkrout board.

I bought this to get a better shred for my yearly sauerkraut batch, 50 pounds of cabbage. Great concept, but typical Chinese execution. I shortened the feed plate spring by 3/4 inches. Also had to do a little work to the feed plate itself. Not a big deal. Had to cut the cabbage down to quarters. The shred came out super fine. Even taking this units shortcomings into account, this is well worth the price.
