The 2ND generation of the par ology series is here! Each specially engineered LED lighting System mimics the shimmer of natural sunlight, produces minimal heat, includes a fan-less design for pin drop silence and emits photosynthetic support for a variety of aquatic organisms. The 2ND Gen Nano type-r2 and type-p2 include dimmable lighting via an integrated touch interface, and a slim remote control which unlocks special Lightning and moving clouds features. The Nano type2 series is ideal for supporting low to medium light-loving photosynthetic life. Nano type-r2 is geared for marine organisms such as mushrooms, zoanthids and soft coral. Nano type-p2 is ideal for freshwater plants such as Anubis, crypts, Mosses and most stemming plants.

This thing is collapsed sun bright. I installed on a Marineland Portrait 5g for a pico reef tank and the fit is absolutely perfect. You do have to offset the bracket a little to get the back cover of the tank to fit around it, but it still looks like it was made for it. And for the fellow fish nerds, here are my PAR readings on the brightest setting with an Apogee meter:400 at 1"225 at 6"175 at 12"

the light itself is sleek and looks good. My problems with it are several. it is designed as fixed mount only about three inches above the water, which is very inconvenient for any tank work, including feeding, While it has a remote, it only works if the remote is within 16-18 inches of the "eye" which is tiny. it seems to defeat the purpose of the remote. I recommend with the reservations listed above.

Nice for low light corals, remote ir is weak
A decent light for a nano sized reef tank. The remote that came with my remote does not work unless it is right next to the ir sensor.. this is a poor design, maybe the light I received is defective or the remote the battery is new so reading other reviews on this now seem to me like it is design flaw or cheap sensor used. May send back still testing on some lower light corals. Update the light has been doing its job currently growing some ricordeas and gsp, might try out some other corals soon, good value for the money on this light.

Love the light. Best one for the price. Love the design.
Contacted them about the remote for light not working, just sent them a simple email, no reply just received it in the mail a new one in the mail a few day later. Didn’t even gave to send proof, just trusted the email. Will buy another one from then if I need it.There first model was fully submersible wish they kept that feature, most leds aren’t anyway though.

Good light but remote is not good
Remote control has to be 2 inches for it to work other then that the light works good.

Looks good on my 3gal reef
Remote has to be inches in front of tank to work. 4 brightness settings. Works with timer. Bought it for ~$30, looks like its ~$50 now. Have had it for about 5 months, no issues so far.

Great fixture be wary of the remote
Would have received five stars all around if the remote had worked. There are controls on the remote that are not on the light fixture. Without it you cannot use the storm/lightning/cloud cover mode. If it’s not Bluetooth then the remote better work .

Great for soft corals
It is currently sitting on an 8 gallon nano reef with soft corals, palys and zoas. The light fits on the tank perfectly, the construction and style is very solid and adds a modern look to any nano tank. As for the lighting it's self: it's bright and has a great actinic blue accent to bring out those neon greens, bright reds, and vibrant blues. My only dislike was the actual PAR rating. It's low for LED's, at the bottom it's around 24 and at the top around 100. A good light for softies and mushrooms, not LPS or SPS.
