Chemist at Play 5% AHA Deodorant, Aluminum Free, Aqua, 1.35 oz

Sometimes in life we find a small product that will improve our experience so drastically that we can never be the same again. Ladies and gentlemen, this is such a product. Let me explain. I live in Missouri. Many people do not realize Missouri's climate is classified as "humid subtropical" until the summer hits and then we all understand to our core. This is the wettest year on record. 70-95 percent humidity every day, with the exception of five days, since June first. Nearly two months of he'll! So when I saw that this product was made by and for the folks that live in India, I was very excited and thought it could stand up to a wet Missouri summer. OH MY GOD! I can, and have for the sake of proving my point, bury my face in my armpit and breathe in as hard and deeply as possibly at the end of a long day. I am a maid. These days are sweaty, believe me! I got the jasmine because I wear jasmine perfume. The smell is initially very strong, but fear not. It fades incredibly fast to leave a neutral to subtly jasmine smell, but the protection lasts literally all day. I've used tons of "natural" or aluminum free deodorant and this is the single one that lasts all day. All. Day. Even if I don't shower that evening, I don't smell in the morning from sleeping in the still hot air. There's no residue, no rub off on clothing, nothing. I've found NOTHING wrong or lacking in this product. In fact, I feel like the scientists studied my own body chemistry to make it just for me. That's how good it works. I'm genuinely deliriously happy about this product. Now to be clear, it is not an antiperspirant, but that's okay. Sweat. It's good for your body. Relax. You won't stink afterwards! Of course everyone has different body chemistry, and I'm so sorry if it doesn't work for yours. Please give it a shot, though. If it does work for you, this will absolutely be the last deodorant you ever try. AND YOU CAN WEAR IT WITH A SLEEVELESS BLACK DRESS! Oh, I love this product. It has set me free.

BEST ALUMINUM-FREE DEO FOR MENOPAUSAL B.O.! Like other reviewers, I have tried just about all aluminum-free deodorant options. This stuff ACTUALLY works! I have now tried Jasmine, Peach, and Woody Musk (they need to fix their spelling error). Jasmine scent lasts longest, but ALL of them stop the stink! Give it a full week of use before you judge. It takes a few days to slough off the stink that's been hiding out in dead skin cells on the surface, but it will exfoliate and reveal fresh, clean skin. This does sting a bit when you apply just after shaving your pits, but it goes away.

Tried many different brands but this was the only aluminum free deodorant that worked while pregnant when the funk was turned up to 11. Also, only deodorant that gets rid of funk when reapplying and is a true refresh if I forget to reapply after a shower. Lasts all day but does take a couple minutes to dry down. Scents I've tried are nice: aqua, jasmine, and peach. Aqua is very traditional masculine, cologne scent and was the strongest scent. I found Jasmine to be the most light and pleasant out of the three. Don't smell it after the deodorant dries down so it really comes down to what you want to smell during application.

I’ve been using this roll-on deodorant and really like that it offers more than just odor protection. The 5% lactic acid and mandelic acid provide gentle exfoliation, which is a nice added benefit for the underarm area. I’m especially interested to see if continued use helps improve some unevenness and dark spots over time. The roll-on applies easily and evenly, although I did notice that my underarms stay a little wet for about 4 minutes after applying it. Once it dries, though, I don’t really notice it at all and it doesn’t leave my underarms feeling sticky. The scent I used was the woody musk, and I’ll say it is a little potent when you first apply it. It does settle down after a while, but if you prefer a very light or subtle fragrance, this may be something to keep in mind. Personally, I don’t mind the scent once it settles. I also appreciate that it’s vegan, cruelty-free, and free of parabens, silicones, mineral oil, dyes, and gluten. I like that it combines deodorant with skincare ingredients, so it feels like I’m getting a little more out of my daily routine. Overall, I’m enjoying it so far. It keeps me feeling fresh and I like the added exfoliating and brightening benefits. I’ll definitely continue using it to see how my underarm skin looks with regular use.

Updated: After trying a few other scents of this brand, I've grown to like the intense scent Of Royal Oudh the best. I've also had to upgrade from 3 stars to 5 after an impressive holiday week. We spent the past holiday in Virginia with heat index's up to 119° (actual temps around 106°). It was intense humid air. Sweating was mandatory, and I naturally sweat a lot. I only apply deodorant in the evenings after showering. So the days events are relying on the prior nights application. While this deodorant has done well in the past, I had no expectation that it would survive all day sweating in 119° heat index's. To my astonishment I had zero BO over the holiday. I need to stress how impressive this is. I had to change my clothes twice each day from sweating through them so heavily in the intense heat wave. And yet, this deodorant never failed. That in mind, I have been using it daily for months so I know that helps, but impressed I still am. (Below is my original review at three stars) Pros: Does well to reduce/cover odor for up to 24hrs. Wears to a somewhat gender neutral scent (though can lean slightly masculine initially). Gentle on skin (as long as you don't put too much on, and only apply to clean dry skin). Cons: The scent lasts quite awhile and overpowers even cologne (in other words it is not cologne or perfume friendly, it will overpower and win the scent war). The roll on applies too easily making it difficult not to waste the product. The container, while small, isn't filled all the way, making an already small deodorant even less voluminous. If applied to wet or irritated skin, it will create a rash (it must be applied on clean, dry, unaffected skin).

This is my new favorite deodorant! It is aluminum free and smells great!! It definitely lasts all day and controls odors! It glides on very smooth! I love that it contains AHA’s to help lower the pH in under arm area. I will definitely continue to use this deodorant daily!

I think this product worked well for post partum body odor and helping to remove bad bacteria from underarms but I don’t know fully because there is hardly enough product in the bottle to accurately judge.

I didn’t like this deodorant. I’m used to deodorants with a strong, fresh scent. The most recent deodorant I used was Degree Dry Spray, and before that was Secret Clinical Strength. Switching to a natural, fragrance-free deodorant was a really big change for me. I’m trying to be healthy and conscious of what’s going into my body, but I don’t think I’m ready to give up scented deodorant. On a positive note, I think this deodorant helped to prevent odor, but I would rather use something with fragrance. I want to try one of the scented roll-ons, then I may like it. If you are someone who prefers a natural, fragrance-free deodorant, you will love it!

I have tried several underarm roll products but this is the best. Not only does it keep me fresh and odor free all day but I noticed my dark underarms started to lighten from the very first use. Highly recommended!

I’ve been using this roll-on regularly and I really like it. It has a mild, fresh feel and helps keep body odour away for a good part of the day. I also like that it contains AHA ingredients, which make my underarms feel smoother. It dries pretty quickly and doesn’t feel sticky. Overall, a good everyday roll-on.

I’ve been using the Chemist at Play underarm roll-on and really like it so far. I’m on my second bottle now.It goes on smoothly, doesn’t feel sticky, and has a pleasant, mild fragrance. It keeps my underarms feeling fresh throughout the day and is easy to use. Overall, a great everyday product and definitely worth trying!
