If you go to the Martindale-Electric web site you can download the instruction sheet. BTW I have had one for two years, it has never tripped an RCD, why would it? If it detects voltage, it indicates that; if it detects continuity, it indicates that; otherwise it remains powered off. **Q: Does it come with batteries** A: Mine has two AAA -- LR03 (Not AA) batteries. **Q: Would this detect ghost voltges?** A: The VT25 will indicate in the presence of ghost voltages. Most of the time you don't need to know the precise voltage or resistance, you just want to know whether the mains voltage is getting through at all. Same with continuity. So, this saves all the faff associated with a multimeter. You can just stick your two probes into something and this thing instantly tells you: - whether there's a voltage between the probes - whether there's continuity between the probes. No dials to fiddle with. No meter screen to keep in sight.
