I swam in a public pool. Twice. The first time , I noticed some brassiness in my hair. The second time , it was yellow. I tried a swimmer’s shampoo. Twice. Malibu C crystals. Five times. Used Matrix So Silver( purple shampoo) many times. For a month, it seemed like I lived in my shower. I thought I was stuck letting it grow out. The yellow made me self conscious. As a last ditch effort, I tried this product. I was so psyched to use it. The directions suggest wearing gloves to prevent staining. I haven’t kept gloves since COVID. I took a chance- no stains. This product is like purple on steroids. It’s close to black. The suggested time range to leave it on was 5-15 minutes. I went with 5 minutes to make sure it didn’t do anything funky to my hair. A little goes a long way. I left it in while I shaved and showered. 5 minutes. ( did I mention the month I practically lived in the shower? My timing is now fast) No results at all! My hair was still wet, so I put some more in, put on a shower cap, waited 15 minutes. I was very pleased! The stain is barely there now! My hair feels so SOFT, and I love the way the non- stained areas look. I will continue to use this while my hair returns to normal. BTW, I found out that this staining can be caused by dissolved metals in the pool water, like copper, which causes a green tint for some people. People with white or blonde hair are more vulnerable. If I return to that pool, I will definitely wear a swim cap and wash my hair immediately. And then use this product!!

I love this. I use it at least 2x a month. I have gray silver hair, and this makes it shine and looks healthy. Really pretty. I use platinum. Super happy. Conditions and leaves really soft. I definitely recommend.

After 20+ years of covering the gray roots of my black hair, I decided to let it grow out. It's been 2.5 years, and I'm true salt-and-pepper now. The white sections are white from root-to-tip, whereas the sections that haven't yet "turned" are still coming in as black as the day I was born. I bring this up to provide some context that I still have quite a bit of dark hair in the mix, in case anyone else is in the same boat. Recently, I've been noticing that the silver parts of my hair were looking pretty dingy, especially near the ends. Kind of yellow/brassy color to the shimmery white at the roots. Olaplex purple shampoo has done nothing, so I decided to try this. There is a little improvement in color on my white sections, but certainly nothing dramatic. I will try more product next time, and leave it on longer (12 minutes for this first run). For what it's worth, neither did I experience any of the dreaded purple tint that other reviews have mentioned. For color-transformation, I'd say this helped a bit to brighten the white sections of my hair but I wasn't wowed. (For those wondering, the dark sections of my hair were totally unaffected, which I expected). But let's talk about this product as a gloss ... I was blown away?! I only bought it for the color correction, but was pleasantly surprised instead by how much it improved my hair texture! I have very fine, VERY frizzy hair that defaults to "puffy and dull," and when I went to blow it dry after this treatment, I couldn't get how soft and shiny my hair was. The effect did wear off after a a few washes, but I'll be working this into my regular rotation for the conditioning/shine effect alone. 5 stars as a gloss, 3 stars as a toner.

Thrilled! I’ve colored my hair blonde all my life, from 15 on. At 59 1/2 I decided to see how grey it was. I let it grow 4-5 months and it was just too streaky grey so I went with color silk 8S. It was a little too dark, with a bit too blonde tint, it looked muddy. This stuff is AWESOME. Lightened it up and the blonde is almost all gone!

Yuck! DON’T use before work with no time to remove like I did. My hair is 99% cotton white. I bought “silver” to reduce frizz & increase shine & texture. It feels softer but the shade is DISGUSTING. It looks dirty & dingy like I rolled in soot. Think it might be manufacturer error. Gross on Snow White hair unless you like dull dingy hair.
