Good with 10 gauge too other cheap brands tend to take strips of wire along with the outer casing, not Irwin. The cutter is razor sharp and seems it will last a very long time before going blunt. Grip is good for my hands you can get some real pressure when crimping. My only minor gripe is for a more flatter area on both sides of the insulation crimping zones so i can use it to secure connectors instead of relying on the pliers at the head of the tool. The color codes on the tool show 2 "ranges" of wire gauge, but it looks like there are 3 crimp areas.** A: On the left there is a label ("INSUL AND NON-INSUL") that points the center of the two places to crimp, with the one closest to the pivot color coded for blue and yellow connectors (or 16 - 10 gauge), and the next crimp area for red connectors (or 22 - 18 gauge).
