Very bright, but gets quite hot, so it might not last.
It's nice and bright, but it gets flaming hot so I hope it will last considering what it cost. It's too hot to touch.I've had it 6 weeks now and have it running as an overhead aquarium light. It's on a timer from about 9 a.m. to 1 p,m., then a siesta for the plants to regenerate their CO2, then again the light runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This also gives the light a chance to cool off and I hope this will add to longevity. The plants seem to like it and it hasn't promoted algae growth at all.Immersed plants are hornwort, frogbit, vallisneria, egeria naja, watersprite. Emmersed plants are peace lilly and pothos growing with roots in the aquarium water to suck up nitrates as the tank is heavily stocked for the size. Aquarium is Aqueon 29g tall. I have the light about 10 inches above the water, using this excellent goosenack clamp lamp, sold separately: Adjustable LED Clamp Lighting Mount/clip Holder E27 Socket Gooseneck Clamp / Mount .It probably gets so hot because there doesn't seem to be any venting of any sort to let heat out, because it's an indoor/outdoor lightbulb. This is great in that the light can handle a few accidental splashes when doing aquarium maintenance. However it's also problematical in that it might shorten the life span and I am disappointed to see that the most recent reviews all say the light burnt out after a few months. I plan to update the review and dock a few stars of that happens to mine.A tip about LEDS:Never screw in the bulb with the power on. Apparently there is a computer chip of some sort in the bulb that converts/regulates the current to the diodes that doesn't get enough time to kick in properly if the power comes in weird as it does when the bulb is gradually screwed into a live power supply. This can damage the chip causing it to blow right away or giving it a shorter lifespan. So remember to turn off the lamp or unplug it from the wall socket. Sorry to use such non technical language but I'm just paraphrasing what I read on a few LED websites when researching.

Revised review!
I have to rescind a past review in which I only gave one star. Initially, I gave the bulb a 5 star and the went down to one because the light went out after 5 months. Well, the problem was not with the light at all. The outdoor fixture went bad! We have been using this light for months now and it is doing a great job illuminating the outside. I feel bad I might have swayed people to stay away from this light bulb because I am very happy with this and would buy again.

STOPPED WORKING....
Ms Elegant: I purchased this light bulb last October for my exterior flagpole. Installed it in December, 2017. The light has been fine until last night: its become very dim and it appears that the only thing on is now its middle part and it looks like it's dying. You've indicated that this light bulb has 24 month warranty. Can you please let me know how to proceed? Thanks! RonUPDATE (7/12/2018) - Ms. Elegant (seller's name) replaced the defective light bulb.I received it and now has been replaced. The Seller was responsive and kindly offered to replace the item. Thank you!Ron

Great for a Year!
Bought two bulbs in August, 2017. Happy at the time of installation. Placed in motion detector outdoor lighting system. Provided great amount of light for my driveway! Maybe on for a hour per night for a year. One bulb just went out! So much for that non-existant warranty that I can't seem to find on Amazon! Other bulb is still working. Most of these LED bulbs are suupposed to last for twenty plus years with three hours of use per day. Replaced with a more reliable brand name bulb which cost $10 more but has an expressed warranty!

Lots of light at a low power draw...
I purchased two of these to replace two 150 watt floods and when I received and tested them I realized that even though they were very bright I realized I had ordered these in the 5000K variety which is a stark light similar to fluorescent lighting. I was concerned that this type of light would not compare to what I was replacing but after getting the lights up there I was pleasantly surprised. They really illuminate the area beautifully and at a total of about 40 watts for both. LED lighting is pretty amazing and I am in the process of replacing all of my CFL lighting as it just makes sense. Instant on, great power to light ratio, and if you drop one you don't have to call in a Hazmat team!

These do not last! There is no warrantee on hours they will last.
Installed 4 bulbs in November 2017, 2 dead in May 2018 = 6 months For $15 a pop, NOT WORTH IT!! Will not buy again.UPDATE--- The final two bulbs purchased in Nov 2017 just died, July 4 2018. 8 MONTHS used ONLY at night. Best estimate is 1000 to 1200 hours of life.. I love how they advertise "UP TO 25,000 hrs" What a crock. I could build anything and say it will last UP TO 100 years. If it died tomorrow it falls into the lifespan advertised, 0-100 years!!DO NOT BUY THESE BULBS. RIPOFF REPORT!!!

not worth it
The whole point of ordering these LED flood light bulbs was to keep two seniors off ladders. At the advertised 50K hours, they should never need replacing in our lifetime. However, since purchased in November 2017, three have already burned out. So instead of 50K hours, they last less than 2K hours. I'm so disappointed. I might be saving money on electricity, but ladders are still required to change light bulbs that shouldn't burn out so fast. I will be looking for an alternative solution. Note: I am NOT blaming the seller. The seller has been very responsive so far. However, I am NOT recommending this particular brand of LED flood light bulb.

Excellent purchase. I replaced a couple incandescent floods pointing out at my back yard. These produce a very bright, white light. This is great because I like to keep an eye on my dogs at night. If you're looking for a softer, yellow light, perhaps that looks nice during the backyard barbecue, you should buy something else or the soft version of this one. Also, the plastic housing is very sturdy and removes the angst of dropping a glass bulb while hanging out my 2nd story window to change it.
