Loving this desk extender so far. I've been using it for a couple weeks to add more room for my computer desk. I use it to hold my keyboard, wrist rest, and Streamdeck. These are my observations: - There are 6 screws you have to put in to secure the shelf to the hardware; 3 on each side. Easy installation. - This wood shelf has these metal studs already built-in where screws go into, which means the screws don't actually dig into the wood and so you don't risk stripping the wood. It's a sign of a quality install. - Once mounted on your desk, the shelf surface is level with the top of the steel bracket. It would've been better if the shelf was level to the desk surface that it's mounted on. The difference is only about 2mm though. This is my only nitpick. - I bought the faux-carbon fiber version, which doesn't look like real carbon fiber but still looks good overall in my opinion. - The hardware feels very solid and the shelf lies perfectly flat when extended. - The latches are very easy to operate and you have to operate both latches at the same time to put the shelf back down. This means that even if one latch fails, it will still hold up. - When you fold the shelf back up, the latches will auto-lock into place which gives off a very satisfying and reassuring click. - I have a very thin solid-steel desk that's only about 2-3mm thick and I was able to mount it easily without having to add many spacers.

💡Installation tip: The Anker clamp is adjustable. If it doesn't fit under your desk lip at first, just loosen and reposition the screws to lower the anchor arm (anchor clamp)—I’ve included a photo of the area I mean. Once I did that, it fit perfectly. I truly don’t understand why this has a high return rate—this desk extender is awesome once you know how to install it correctly. I mainly use it as a dedicated spot for my notepad, and it has completely changed my work setup for the better. Before this, I had to move my mouse or awkwardly bend over the far side of my desk just to jot something down. That constant twisting and hunching was wrecking my back. Now, I can take notes comfortably without shifting anything—and my posture has noticeably improved. 🎯 A few more reasons I love it: ✅ The surface is durable and waterproof — no peeling, no bubbling, no chipping ✅ No damage to your desk — attaches with sturdy C-clamps, no drilling ✅ Spacious and strong — easily holds my notepad, mouse, or tablet ✅ Folds away neatly when not in use ✅ Huge ergonomic relief — no more back pain from bad angles I actually bought a small side table before this one, and it bubbled up after a single water spill—so frustrating! This desk tray, on the other hand, wipes clean easily and shows no signs of wear, even after everyday use. Bottom line: This is one of the best ergonomic upgrades I’ve made to my desk. If you’re thinking of returning it because the clamp doesn’t fit—don’t! Adjust the screws and give it a real chance. It's affordable, durable, and way more useful than I expected.

My work from home setup involves two monitors and a laptop. My desk (which is old and I’m looking to replace) is on the smaller side but fits the two monitors just fine. The laptop, however, spends its time on the crafting (un-job-related) bookshelf next to the desk. However, we need to be able to maintain a visual of all 3 screens and the laptop has to be either center or to the right of the other two monitors. Up until now, this has involved me semi-precariously balancing the laptop slightly off the edge of the bookshelf and turned toward me so I can maintain a visual of it. It’s a solid bookshelf and the bulk of the laptop’s weight was supported by the bookshelf, so it wasn’t dangerously placed, but still a hazard. Accidents happen. I have ADHD, and do not sit still, so I shift around A Lot. My dog tends to join me for work and makes himself at home under my desk. Heck, New Jersey (where I live) had a couple earthquakes the other day. All of this lead up to this purchase. All I needed was something to make the top of the bookcase stick out a little longer so the laptop was properly supported. This was it! Exactly what I needed. Easy to assemble. It’s just 4 screws. The shelf is collapsable, in an intentional way—to prevent accidental collapse. It’s sturdy. It’s got some weight to it, but it’s not heavy and won’t topple the bookshelf (plus the bookshelf is also weighted down by the crafting supplies on it). I gave it a good few wiggle tests just to make sure everything was secure and didn’t need tightening. The screws are kind of short and you just screw them through the holes as instructed, so I wasn’t sure how good their hold would be, at first. It’s solid. It does its job and fulfills the exact need I had for it. I’m positively pleased with this purchase and take comfort in knowing my work laptop is secure now.

Seems stable, but I’ll be buying a different one instead. Not a fan of this fake carbon fiber finish. Feels and looks a little odd. I’m trying the other black one next.

I was all set to go out and buy all the parts to build this. This is great and a perfect size for where it was needed. Very good quality and I'm looking forward to this little bit of extra desk space.

Where have these been all my life!? My home office is quite small, so my desk is similarly tiny. It's functional, but it also means that it has less surface area than I'd like and is not as deep as I need it to be, so either my keyboard and mouse have to be positioned ridiculously close to my monitor OR I have to position them at the very edge of my desk leaving me no room to rest my wrists/arms while working. Neither solution is ideal, and both solutions result in debilitating wrist/arm pain, particularly after a long work day. I found a number of other options that looked like they'd fit the bill, and I actually tried 2 other products BEFORE I found this one, but they were both disappointing. The first one I bought was one of the cheapest options available, and I ended up returning it instantly because it was made of plastic and felt like it would break under the slightest pressure. The second unit I bought was a more expensive metal option with pivoting arms, because I thought the added mobility would be helpful. But after trying it out for a few weeks, I found that the articulating arms made it surprisingly difficult to use and position it where you need it, especially if you're moving your arm a lot while working. So I ended up returning that one too. But the third time is clearly the charm, because this one is a winner!! It's solidly built. It's easy to assemble and install. It's INCREDIBLY sturdy. And it's just the right size, giving me plenty of extra surface area to type and use my mouse comfortably, without it being too bulky or getting in the way. In fact, I loved it so much, I bought two – one for each arm – and it has been well worth the expense. I haven't experienced wrist or arm pain since installing them, so as far as I'm concerned, they're a godsend and worth every penny. The fact that they fold down out of the way is really nice bonus. Before installing these, I never considered that to be an essential feature, but I'm finding that it comes in really handy. Cannot recommend these enough! If you're in the market for a desk extender, these are perfect!!

A picture would be worth a thousand words here (I'm bad at taking pics tho, sorry) - the main flaw is that the threaded-screw-side of the bolts protrude against the front edge of desk you're clamping to. You might be able to tell from the first product image (this is for the 11.8"x 5.9" arm rest version), there are 2 bolts on each side, at the corner of the L-shape. The rounded Philips head is on the outside, but the bolts stick through about 1/8", so either you don't care about scratching the desk or have to figure out a workaround. I ended up leaving a little gap, but it's less secure than fitting flush against that surface. You can't just flip the bolts around either, because only the inside piece of the clamp is threaded; the 5 holes in the outside bracket are smooth. Adding nuts should be easy enough but they aren't included. Also, only the top 3 holes are usable - the diagonal support arm blocks the 4th hole down, so you can use the default top two holes or the next position down, but not really holes 3+4 or 4+5. Could replace the bolts with say flat heads, tho the instructions don't specify standard/metric or sizes. My desk is 2" deep and this just barely didn't fit with the top two holes, so I dropped it down to holes 2+3 and left that small gap so the bolts don't dig in (could add shims or padding too). If your desk is 1.5" or thinner, the screw ends should be below, so the above may not affect you. And, as others reviews noted, the build tolerances are a bit off; one clamp is a bit askew and I figured re-screwing it might fix that, but no. Not major, it's like 90° on one side and 89° on the other, more function over form. On the plus side, it's a nifty idea and seems sturdy enough. Feels like relatively heavy steel and MDF board. Misc.: the board has a carbon fiber-style finish on both top and bottom. Presumably just stickers or laminate given the low price and total weight. Not sure why it'd be on the bottom, doesn't hurt anything but makes the whole thing feel perhaps assembled from spare parts. Also each bracket arm underneath has its own lever to release the board from horizontal - maybe a feature (less likely to drop accidentally) or bug (kind of a two-handed operation). Overall, not bad but room for improvement.

I don't usually write product reviews but felt compelled to do so with this item. It's just been a brilliant extension to my small home office desk - just that extra bit that makes it feel so much more spacious! I can work off a second laptop on it. For the money, I didn't expect too much but I have to say, I'm impressed by the quality. It is sturdy and doesn't feel cheap, practical to flip up and down, and super easy to fit. The seller shipped it super quickly as well - arrived in now time.
