Absolutely love the design. Great to look at and has a real nice weight in the hand. My only complaint is that due to the limitations of the sliding mechanism, the provided thermal strip is meant to be placed on the plastic main board that holds the SSD. Consequently, there is no direct thermal connection between the SSD itself and the aluminium enclosure; meaning that you're left to rely upon what little heat transference can occur via the small air gap between the SSD and inner wall of the enclosure and, additionally, the potential heat dissipation that can occur through the thin air channels/vents that run along the sides of the enclosure. Add on the fact that my Samsung 990 pro doesn't appear to have any nand chips on the back of the board where it actually touches the thermal strip and I don't quite see how the SSD feasibly benefits from the thermal strip at all. I'm no expert, but it would seem that it would just serve to divert some of the excess heat towards the motherboard of the enclosure which I can't imagine will do it much good in the long run? That being said, I haven't had any issues so far and I really do like the design. I just wish it had a better thermal management system.

I had high hopes for the SATECHI USB-C Aluminum Tool-Free Enclosure for M.2 PCIe NVMe, especially given its sleek design and promise of tool-free installation. Unfortunately, my experience has been nothing short of frustrating. From the start, the enclosure has been incredibly slow—nowhere near the speeds you'd expect from an NVMe drive. Worse than that, it constantly drops connection, often mid-transfer, which makes it practically unusable for anything important. I’ve tried different cables, different ports, and even different systems, but the issue persists. Maybe I received a defective unit, I don’t know. But based on my experience, I can’t recommend this product. If you’re looking for reliability and speed, I’d suggest exploring other options.

my enclosure has borked two high end NVME SSDs [Crucial P2 and Samsung 960] At first I put it down to drive failure, but second time around with the same symptoms another drive has died. Either my unit is faulty, or the only other thing is that the "tool-less" design is flawed because it means sometimes the enclosure pops open.

Well design, quality material ans easy to use. It's great companion for my MacBook Pro.

È il primo prodotto Satechi che acquisto e sono rimasto soddisfatto. Costa un po' più di altri prodotti simili disponibili qui su Amazon ma ne vale la pena. Nella scatola ho trovato anche la pasta termica da applicare sulla scheda nvme.

Un peu lourd avec l aluminium dans la poche, mais mais très facile de monter le nvmev dedans.

Il permet l’échange de SSD de manière très simple et très rapide ! Pas de vis.
