JJC Auto Lens Cap Compatible with Leica D-Lux 8, D-Lux 7, D-Lux Typ 109

This is a great product and works well. I have the original auto lens cap which is slightly thinner but doesn’t let you use a filter. This lens cap is a couple of mm deeper and lets you put a filter on the lens and still opens and closes perfectly.

Fits well and operates perfectly super value for money

Poor quality with sharp plastic edges that will scratch the lens barrel of your expensive camera. I chucked mine in the bin and bought the real thing....avoid......

Worked great, instructions useless... slowly worked out how to take the outer ring off lens before this can fit on.

This is a "petal" lens cap for a Leica D-Lux 8 Camera. It is much cheaper than the Leica equivalent, but it also has a significant advantage up it's sleeve. I use Urth magnetic filters - and with the magnetic filter ring screwed on - with this lens cap, it is possible to leave a UV filter on the lens and the petal lens cover still closes. It is easy to fit and ensures protection of the lens more than the Leica one. Looks great on the camera.

Works well with the Panasonic DC-L10 and I have a filter attached to the camera at the same time. I not sure how durable it will be.

The Panasonic Lumix LX100ii comes with a clip on lens cap that I knew I would inevitably lose at some stage. This lens cap (OEM version also available somewhere I believe) solves that issue and even works with a filter on the lens. It has three sections and when you switch on the camera the lens pushes through them like a robotic Jack in the box. Cleverly, when you switch the camera off, the reverse happens and the three petals close to protect the lens. To fit the lens cap you have to remove the metal ring that surrounds the lens. This was quite stiff to move on my camera, so much that I thought I might be damaging the camera, but after watching a reassuring YouTube video I persevered and managed to remove it without any damage being done. Definitely a useful addition to my camera.

Cap fit well onto Leica d-lux 8, and is tight enough. Biggest problem was first removing front ring from camera, which is necessary for d-lux 8: Filter removal wrench did not work. However, jar lid remover provided better leverage and got front ring to move and come off. I keep both tools on hand for those once a year problems with difficult to unscrew camera filters. Problem is fault of Leica, which supplied a metal auto cap with their previous model, the d-lux 7 but substituted a front metal ring and regular plastic cap on new d-lux 8. Had to search Internet for front ring removal solution, as JJC video skipped that step and proved useless. Nonetheless, recommend JJC cap, as same front ring removal problem on d-lux 8 will confront you even if you buy the hard-to-find $90 Leica brand plastic cap. Note: Leica d-lux 7 metal auto cap is interchangeable with JJC cap.
