This is nickle bullion no matter what you thought you were buying. This is bullion and bullion is not perfect in every way like say a silver dollar. A silver dollar at the 1troy ounce .999 fine is from the mint and its not intended to be used as bullion. But the price is a bit of a stretch. Even at todays price. around $18/pound

***UPDATE BELOW*** I guess this is all part of the free shipping perk but I will say that I would pay extra for extra care in shipping certain items. Not a big deal though. This is not going to be a showpiece, it's going into a box and then into a gun safe for storage. Perhaps Amazon could ship these semi-precious metal bars in boxes instead of envelopes? Just a thought. I do love it though, it is absolutely gorgeous (despite the small nick)! ***UPDATE*** Well, after reading that nickel is only worth about $10 per pound, I have decided to send this back. I didn't want to but I could really use the money for other stuff and that's exactly what I did! Perhaps in the future the premium on nickel won't be so high. Amazon is still, and will most likely always be, the best!!!

I ordered this piece to go with my collection from this company, this was by far the worst quality I've ever seen ! Some people have complained about nicks or dents, but what I got was so much worse. The edges look to be cut with a bandsaw and not sanded much less polished. The top edge is so jagged it pulls cotton from my shirt if I rub it along there, it's almost dangerous how rough the edge is ! And the face had its raised edges sanded off and somewhat rounded, but didn't bother to sand the sides. The surface has a haze that I'm not even going to attempt to clean ! People complained about it being 10x the metal price, but I was willing to accept that assuming the craftsmanship was worth the extra money. But this piece looks like it was picked out of the scrap bin for over a hundred dollars ! So disappointing that I'm considering returning my other five pieces I bought from them just because the company name is on this disaster of a machining nightmare !
