Tom Chambers Grand Bird Station

A quality, substantial, easy to assemble item that is well worth the higher price. I feared it would take ages to put it together and as an older lady I suspected it may be to heavy for me to do myself. However, although it is certainly not 'lightweight', and as long as you take note of the pictures on the box end, it's easy peasy! I also ordered the squirrel guard to use with it, despite having read other reviews that the center hole was too small and needed to be drilled to enlarge it to fit it on the stand, but this is not the case. The stand comes in three sections and by placing the squirrel guard between one of the upper sections onto the 'male' sleeve,' the wider 'female sleeve slides down and holds it in place. Perfect. I was going to deduct one star because in a couple of places the brown paint is missing from the hanging arms but this isn't going to affect the enjoyment of the many birds who now visit, so i think this deserves a 5* I am so pleased with it that I am considering getting another !

Ordered from amazon marketplace supplier LittleDickyBird - good price and quick delivery. Very good quality bird feeder station, much sturdier than our previous one, and a good height. We ordered a patio umbrella stand from ebay to stand it in (rather than using the supplied pairs of pronged feet into the ground). Looks lovely and the birds are enjoying it. Squirrels struggle to climb up the longer pole especially as we have put the large mesh feeder tray upside down to make it more difficult for them to climb over, but we will probably need to buy a squirrel baffle once they have worked it out !

This feeding station is much better quality than the cheaper ones so it is double the price simple as that , even more if you find the same item in the large garden centres . It was dispatched and arrived very quickly , assembly is straight forward and the instructions are adequate if a bit vague . The long prongs which stop it blowing over are different lengths and the positioning will become obvious , so you insert the main pole into the ground a reasonable depth I used a soft faced mallet then you gently hammer the supports down flush and it feels real sturdy . The only downside I have found so far is the poor paint finish as you cannot help but scratch the pole whilst sliding the feeding stations up and down to position them . It also would be better if the centre pole sections could be fastened in place rather than just a slide fit as this tends to encourage a slight lean at the joints. All in all a good sturdy feeder which the birds found literally minutes after I had finished erecting it. PS In the hot weather it helps if you dampen the ground where you intend to place it before hand which facilitates easier fitting of the ground supports .

I wanted a sturdier Bird feeder after my cheap one get destroyed by wood pigeons snapped an arm off a badly welded cheap model. This Tom Chambers model is very solid & sturdy, easy to assemble (although the top once the attachments are fitted is a little heavy) and very elegant looking. Although easily the most expensive model, with the wildlife we get it had to be strong enough to withstand squirrels landing from hight, too many wood-pigeons fighting for a place on it's arms, wood peckers smashing away, jays and the many other visitors we get. I would highly recommend this for any wild bird lover who wants to help their local wildlife thrive.

Great bird station, very high quality and very sturdy. IMPORTANT - The Gardman A01158 Universal Squirrel Baffle with Hook DOES fit this bird station. As a previous reviewer has mentioned, remove the green bits out from the top (unscrew it) and place one of the pole sections through the hole in the squirrel baffle when joining it to another pole - it is very secure and fits perfectly. Very easy to assemble (no instructions, but you don't need them), took me about 10 minutes to put up. Get yourself a good strong patio stand, at least 25KG to hold this nice and secure. Should last for many years. This bird station is more expensive than standard models (Gardman, etc) but worth every penny.

The bird bath snapped on our feeder,so I contacted them through amazon straight away, within a few days another feeder was sent out to us. I cannot praise the company or product enough. Sturdy, looks great, every bird of ll types for miles comes to it, in fact we have nicknamed it jacks snacks, it may cost a bit more but I guarantee you will be completely satisfied with the quality of this product you definitely get what you pay for. Pity all companies aren't like this one.

Firstly this was really good value for money, I saw the same thing in a garden centre for much more money. It is extremely sturdy it stood up to both of the recent gales, having the extra supports that you plunge in the ground gives that extra support. There are plenty of places to attach your bird feeders. The pole doesn't stop the Squirrels from trying to get to the nuts, but I don't mind that. I would certainly recommend this bird feeding station, infact i will probably buy a second one to put up in a different area in the garden.

This bird station was obviously quality by its weight alone. Easy to assemble with no need for instructions, just look at the completed feeder on the box, it is that simple we had it together in under 5 minutes. I particularly like the stabilizing bars which should help on windy days. I expect it to last a couple of years even in our exposed coastal location. Update: it lasted 3 years five months which I consider very good value considering the wind and salt it has endured. I plan to re-order if I can't fix the pole which finally gave way in last night's winds.
