Expensive but worth having .
expensive but does let you compare relative tensions from one stringing to another.

Very useful, a bit flimsy though
Very useful guide for measuring ongoing string tension. My first one broke eventually - the prongs came off - so I am being more careful with the second. A simple tool but it works.

Useful device, but poor build quality for the price.
Pros - Quick and easy to use once you've read the instructions, seems to be accurate for the main part, certainly no wild discrepancies when tested on rackets I'd had professionally strung. Cons - Cheaply built and overpriced for what it is. The arrow pointer for setting string guage is a tiny sticker that comes loose easily. I was lucky that mine was still in place when my device arrived (I hope it was the right place). However, i can see how it could easily become dislodged in transit making the device useless unless someone somehow had the means to recalibrate it. If you are lucky enough for your to arrive with arrow in place i'd recommend using a pen knife to scrape a permentent location marker for it in case it soon falls off. In addition the general build quality is quite poor. Cheap plastic that feel like it will break if dropped. In fact I've already twice had mine break apart into 2 pieces when i've tried to measure tensions of over 60lbs.

do not buy
Worthless. I never write a review but felt I had to in order to save other people from wasting their money. This stringmeter worked once straight out of the box. The metal spring gets loose with use right away and then doesn't work anymore. It wasn't terribly accurate on the first day, then afterwards said all the tennis strings were 40lbs no matter how hard they were actually strung (I tested with another device to make sure it was faulty).

Cheap and useful tool - if used in a considered manner
Gives a consistent reading for string tension. Get a useful and pretty accurate reading down the central main strings. Anywhere else not so good. You would be surprised at the variations in tension across individual strings but string tension should really be considered across the bed rather than on individual strings. As a recent stringer of my own rackets this tool is quite invaluable at comparing tensions between rackets.

Just follow instructions
Easy to use, feels like long lasting equipment.

Does its job
These things get pretty mixed reviews but I have to say that so far I’m quite impressed. I’ve been checking tensions immediately after stringing the racket and it’s accurate to within one or two pounds. That is enough for me, so that if someone questions whether we’ve put the right tension on their racket, we have some evidence to offer. As the more sophisticated, and supposedly more accurate, tennis computer seems to be permanently unavailable, this is the best bet.
