This is a great book! I found the hand drawn maps especially to be really helpful and easy to follow. There are lots of recommendations for accommodation along the way and things to look out for, together with plenty of info about the history of the wall. It also has suggested itineraries depending on how long you want to spend on the path. Would definitely recommend for anybody looking to follow this route.

This book is fantastic if you are walking the whole path. The handwritten maps in particular are excellent and point out things you might miss using other maps. The book is also packed with interesting and relevant information.

The maps show camp sit, pub's, cafes, honesty boxes and even drinking water taps its not just a map but full of information

The text is too small, and difficult and confusing directions

The good ….. lots of numbers and important information about where to stay and eat so essential if you are planning your walk.The bad …… don’t believe the mileage estimations they are just wrong. Use more accurate means than relying solely on this guide.The ugly ….. the book states that the Hadrians Wall walk is an easy walk. That is simply not true. I trained for a few months and found it tough. People we talked to on the hike also said the same thing. Do your research using other resources.

Great book. An easy read with detailed hand, and drawn maps showing points of interest, accommodations, and pubs. I highly recommend if preparing to walk the Hadrian wall.

This is an amazing, very comprehensive book for those planning to walk Hadrian's Wall. Lots of great resources, maps, advice and history! Will be a huge asset when planning the walk.

Planning the Hadrian's Wall walk has been so much easier using this comprehensive guide book. Thank you to the author and friends who have walked the wall time and time again to provide up to date information for each edition. A note about this edition: it is written to do the walk from West to East, not East to West (as recommended in previous editions). Accommodation is covered. Was able to book many of the recommended B&Bs. The hand drawn maps of locations passed through are fantastic. The elevation maps include estimated walking times. GPS points included. Everything has been thought of - I used it in conjunction with other sources, however it contains all the basic information and advice you need. The book is small and will be able to easily be carried for reference. Well worth the purchase to plan and have on the walk. Will use with the Archaeological Map recommended in the guide book for more detailed info on the walk.
