Archoil AR6900-D MAX Advanced Diesel Additive Concentrate - 500ml

Excellent additive, been using Red x diesel in every tank since I bought my car, was recommended to by dealer. Was an ex demo SUV, had car 10 years, 2.2d turbo intercooler, 178PS , usually get 48 mpg per tank, car can do 0.60 mph in 9.9 seconds though rarely have I attempted that!! lol Keep car serviced annually as per manufacturers service schedule. Kerb weight is 1700kg without driver, a fairly heavy car, performance & economy has always been outstanding, in my opinion, hence decided to keep this car until it starts costing too much for servicing. As Red x seems too expensive now, thought I'd try something else, read reviews on here, and decided upon Archoil AR6900-D and I'm not disappointed. Archoil AR6900-D is exceptional, in my opinion, whilst I wasn't looking for more performance, I've got it, feel like I've suddenly got a sports car. For my car it worked instantly, been overtaking everything in sight. So easy to use, was going on a 200 mile journey, so thought a good test for this. So simple and easy to measure via a cap within a cap, I.E., the outer cap unscrews which is essentially a cover for a nozzle, pour it in then add fuel like I used to do with Red X. As this is my first use of this over a fairly decent journey, I'm ditching Red X, that's for sure, I used more fuel, as was enjoying the overtaking and acceleration so much. The journeys economy dropped to 45 mpg, still acceptable to me, as enjoyed the extra performance, and the engine feels more smooth and quieter. As some other respondents have mentioned, starting a diesel can be an issue, that's been the only downside of this car, it's never liked starting from cold, always starts first time after engine warmed up, had similar issue on all previous diesels, though not as bad as this one. Usually takes at least 2 attempts in summer, 3-4 in winter. Was same when new, was informed about this by the dealer, have to let car idle for 5 mins also before driving also to allow oil to lubricate the turbo, have started from cold several times since adding Archoil, and it starts first time every time. As of writing this in UK in July 2026 it is hotter than usual for us in south England, and it did used to start better when hot outside, but it has never started first time before. The real test will be winter, but any improvement will be helpful. Rather than needing a new costly battery every 2 years, if this helps starting as much has it has already, I'll be saving loads of money, it's also possible this additive may even extend the life of the car.

Works well. My car initially had some more frequent DPF regenerations when I first added it and had now gone back to normal frequency. The regenerations don't seem to last as long either, which is good. The car is running smoother and quieter too. The bottle is a little confusing to use and if you need to put two treatments into one tank, it can be a pain to take the nozzle off, invert the bottle and put it back on again. It means you get the product on your hands, although it's pretty easy to clean it off. Overal a great product though, and great value for money given the amount of treatments you get out of one bottle.

This product is “magical elixir” my car had engine management problems and went into limp mode also the service light kept coming on with a dpf warning. I put this additive in and filled the tank with fuel, drove 6 miles home and the next morning the engine management light went off, over the next couple of days ( 12 mile days ) and the service light with the oxygen sensor and dpf service light was gone even though I’d bought an oxygen sensor ( it’s still in the shed) and all errors are gone. I recommend this a 1,000%

I'm relatively early on in trying this product and have only done a couple of thousand miles on a BMW 335D LCI (a few tanks). I have marked it 5 stars but that may change if I change my view. But so far I have nothing to complain about. One thing I wanted to mention is that a number of engineers and automative engineers I know or have spoken to have said to me that they do not recommend quick fix additives to the fuel system in either a diesel or a petrol engine. The main reason being as a severely clogged/carbonated engine may react badly to having all its clogged arteries unclogged in quick succession. This obviously is more to do with poorly maintained engines that have had cheap fuel put through them for their whole lives (and poor servicing), and with regard to diesels, have been driven on mainly short journeys (DPF or no DPF). I don’t however think this additive is a short term blast to your engine. More an alternative to the additives that are put in all fuel by from whoever you choose to buy your fuel from. Supermarket fuel concerns me. So, my car has always had V-Power diesel and sometimes an alternative premium diesel from from a competitor. That currently cost me well over £10 a tank. More around £14 if I was ever stupid enough to run my tank that low. This costs a tenth of that, but still provides a quality fuel additive, and one that no Uk forecourt will tell you what you are paying that extra £14 actually for (these guys do)/ I can feel the difference between running a quality fuel and a standard forecourt brand and i’ve been driving for over 40 years now. My performance diesel, when I run premium fuel, feels smoother and happier running premium fuel (extra additives and lubricants, apparently). Long journeys give higher read outs for MPG. I’ve had this conversation a number of times. All fuel is the same. It is just based on price. What could be the difference other than badly maintained forecourts or contaminated fuel? The difference is primarily to do with the quality of the additive in my understanding. And if this additive is going against the alternative premium fuels on price, that that is an obvious win. If it’s going against premium fuel additives then anyones guess is valid. For me, this feels like putting premium fuel in my car, without the extreme cost. And, that I can feel and notice the difference from my engine. Any negatives will be posted with an update but so far I have none.

I have a Volvo D5 engine with 170k on it with no record of it being carbon cleaned, a friend recommended this stuff to me and it's made a big difference. The engine is much quieter now than before, I've no idea if it's cleaned the carbon out or not but it's done something. I wasn't convinced this did very much until about the third tank of fuel where I used it, then I really started to notice how much smoother the engine was running and how much nicer it felt. But I know if I forget to put it in when I refuel you can almost immediately feel the difference. The funnel is a bit fiddly to use though, not a fan of that. I wish they just put a longer spout on the bottle.

Works really well, I have been using this for the last 130k, like using super disel but better. VW T6 starts better, ticks over more smoothly and gives smoother running and a little more power. Van now Done 230k and still going strong.

I had to reduce my star rating to 3 stars because these bottles leak very easily, I put mine in a sealed container thank the lucky stars, But it still stank my car out and took weeks to clear, make sure you keep this upright and in a sealed container of some description otherwise you could have a very bad day indeed.
