Pleased with purchase.
Purchased as a present. Was a little confused when it came because it looked like the book had been printed back to front and upside down. When I opened it, it was meant to be like that as it explains inside the book. Good job I opened it before trying to send it back!!! Would have looked abit silly!

Magi is a great manga!!!
Magi is my favorite anime and I have not been disappointed by the manga at all. Some things are different than in the anime, and it's very interesting to find those differences. The drawings are also amazing. All the books I ordered so far arrived within the time expected and were in great condition.

The Beginning!!!
Converted from the anime, I just adore this manga. It's quite a refreshing take on the Arabian Nights tales with really eye-pleasing artwork. The first volume introduces the primary characters Aladdin and Alibaba as they get acquainted with each other and enter the dungeon. The beginning's different from the anime but that's alright with me! Just can't wait for the next volume!

Interesting twist on a well known story
As a fan of the Disney interpretation of the Arabian Nights' story of Aladdin, and a manga enthusiast, I decided to give Magi a go when it was recommended on my Amazon page. I was not disappointed.Following the standard plot line of Aladdin, a young Arabian male in possession of a magical Djinn/Genie, the author takes a new approach and turns him into an innocent young boy who has befriended said Djinn (rather than making a wish) and is just looking to enjoy life, locate the Djinn's Metal Vessel (the Djinn is temporarily residing within a metal flute), and make some new friends along the way. One such friend is Alibaba; an indebted delivery boy who's dream is to become rich and live a life of supreme comfort and luxury. The author then adds an RPG-esque twist to the story by adding in Dungeons; ruins of an ancient civilisation, filled with treasure and magical items, but which are very difficult to clear and filled with monsters and other dangers. The first Dungeon appeared 14 years prior to the events of the story, and when 2,000 researchers and 10,000 soldiers entered it but failed to return, it became known as a "Hole of Death" and was avoided. Eventually, a lone boy emerged, accompanied by a blue giant carrying treasure. After having been cleared, the First Dungeon disappeared and others began to appear around the World. It is in one such Dungeon, one which has existed for 10 years and has not yet been cleared despite numerous attempts by adventurers and treasure seekers, that Alibaba hopes to find untold treasure and Aladdin hopes to find the Djinn' Metal Vessel. This manga is very cutesy and filled with simplistic humour, but is a fun new twist on a beloved classic. I found many of the facial expressions amusing and happily read the entire first volume, consisting of seven chapters, in one sitting and am looking forward to starting the next volume.Overall, a fun and entertaining manga that can be enjoyed by both the youthful and more mature alike. It was a pleasant read, despite slowing down a bit towards the end and a few cliché moments. I give it a 9/10 :)

Great Fantasy Series
Magi is a fun and interesting fantasy series. I first got acquainted with the world of Magi through the television series. Fans of the animated series might be disappointed with the major plot differences between the original manga and the animated adaption. For example, the very first chapter doesn't even happen in the TV adaption. But differences aside, I'm going to just focus on why I loved this volume. I won't delve too far into the story since it's only the beginning of a grand adventure. The narrative is a good blend of humor and drama. Neither negatively interpose each other and seamlessly work together to make certain scenes hilarious and memorable. While some of the gag jokes, like Ugo's sensitivity to women, may seem a bit much, it doesn't throw the overall mood off of the scene. One thing I have to nit-pick on is the lack of dark skinned characters . . . In an Arab-themed story. It just seems . . . Odd.Thankfully the characters are likeable and have interesting personalities, including the sides. The art's pretty well drawn and the pacing of the panels is good.I think there was maybe one grammatical error but the translation seems to be fairly well done and accurate.
