Great train, my son loves it!

Yeah, it's not cheap, but the quality is good and great sounds. A must have for Xmas.

Looks and works great, sound can be put on or it go around without the sound. A little fiddly to put on the track but all in all it's a great addition to our Xmas Dec's.

Really nice battery operated train set. Original vocals of the most popular phrases from Tom Hanks as the conductor from the movie soundtrack. These can be turned off which is good as would not be great to hear them all Xmas day! The only negatives are. 1: The connecting rods on the wheels are for show only and don't actually move with the wheels like they normally would on a real or model train. 2: The on off switch is hard to spot and turn on and especially off without detraining the train. Would have been nicer to have had the current running through the tracks and an off off switch not on the train itself.

Was skeptical after purchasing after doing some research and it saying it doesn’t connect well and falls of track etc but even on uneven surface the Christmas tree skirt bumps it runs smoothly with no issues and no falling off until little one gets a hold of it! Looks great and makes the Christmas tree! Highly recommend it

At first glance this looks great but when you run it things don't go well. Firstly the train itself runs on 2 x AA batteries located in the engine, pity its not rechargeable. Then there is the track, which is plastic and if you have it in a tight loop tends to result in many derailments. Its very fiddly to connect it all up. Also to start the train you have to use a switch on side of the engine which seems Ok other than in practice usually results in a derailment. The whole thing is fragile construction, cheap plastic covered in "Hogwarts" yet some of the sound effects are clearly American Train based classic Bell not a whistle for instance. But there are movie audio clips included which frankly are annoying. In the end we found this frustration and disappointing especially given the price so its been returned. To improve it needs 1) better materials, metal wheels 2) USB charging, remote control and most importantly - LIGHTS. Charge another £10 but make it work I don't care.

Hogwarts Express I have set up using the circular track only under our Christmas tree, first immediate problem is the coal and 2 carriages create problems for the engine so the the sound effects do not generate properly! So have to have the engine running by itself. Very poor quality for the price. The mechanics inside are just too weak to kick the sound effects in (pulling carriages). I expect the full train set runs better on extensions of straight track also as there's less drag as corners. EDIT: I've upgraded to more powerful batteries (not cheap ones even if they are brand new) Energizer for example work much better, so 2 AA will last all day before it starts to skip vocal sound FX and slow down the engine, but that's expected and fair. I've upped the Star rating.

Misleidende advertentie. Op de foto staat een prachtige trein, 37 stuks etc. De trein die je ontvangt is 28 stuks en een stuk minder mooi. De afwerking is simpel, geen uitgebreide gedetailleerde versie. Helaas ga ik hem retourneren.

Disappointing for our grandson. The engine sounds & vocals that are supposed to come from the train when operating, have diminished to a barely audible level after only a week of use. Battery replacement made no difference.

The train set met our expectations and our two kids could not stop playing with it and reciting the conductors call. We looked at the film the day before they opened their gift and this helped their appreciation. I think it should include a remote control for the price. The problem is for the younger guys it is not that easy to switch on and off without taking the engine off the tracks and then dad has to be running to help align the train on the tracks again!!!. It can be frequent. I recommend getting the one with a remote control.

This train is perfect around the Christmas tree. The silent mode is actually quieter than expected, which was a pleasant surprise.

Mon fils a adoré, mais le train fonctionne une fois sur trois, ce qui est très agaçant. Trop cher pour un article qui ne fonctionne pas tout le temps. Mais le SAV d'Amazon est top ! Encore merci
