Alpine CDE-196DAB CD/DAB Receiver with Advanced Bluetooth Handsfree, Black

Fitted this to our Lotus Elise (2016) which comes with a Alpine unit but only with radio & CD. It also sounds terrible. Used an autoleads PC6-536 DAB adaptor to convert the in car aerial to DAB. Powered it by T'ing into the blue line from the head unit connecting the blue line on the adaptor. This unit has everything and works brilliantly with an iPhone for streaming from iTunes or something like Tidal. The DAB is excellent. Sound quality wise, its very, very good. Having installed many systems over the years I'm seriously impressed with this head unit. Using the TuneIt app on the iPhone it manages to produce some very clear punchy bass, clean midtones and decent highs with relatively cheap speakers. It has fast integration with the iPhone and controls it quickly through the head unit. The phone is also very clear and works quickly. Worth every penny. Only criticism would be that it's not particularly easy to use and you actually do need to read the manual.

Don't be fooled by the selling point of "Steering Wheel Remote Control Ready for a perfect install in almost any vehicle", because its not!! I wanted a unit I could install without the extra cost of additional cables. So paid extra for this model only to find out when I came to fit it that the Steering Wheel controls don't work. Raised the issue with the Amazon seller and their reply was "As this unit is steering wheel remote ready mean you need to buy a separate lead" So what you read in the list of function is not true! Advertising standards don't seem to apply in the digital age.

Replacing a 2008 Alpine 9886, the sound is up to Alpine's usual high standard, with lots of functionality to tweak, including via a somewhat hit-or-miss App (Android). Many, many other areas are also configurable, for example illumination (match your car paint, anyone?). Not the main reason I got the unit, but the BT phone & Alpine supplied mike are remarkably good. This model is slighter deeper than its predecessor which made fitting a bit more fiddly (done by a car audio shop I hasten to add). The Facebook functionality feels a bit like a token nod to social media, but I expect to use the Text-to-speech functionality a lot more. With the sounds as good as expected from Alpine, the only real disappointment for me was the retro display, with a very basic 13 bar single line display. Some may say that is the Alpine 'house style' but the 2008 unit had a much nicer display which I rather miss, & the previous CDE-195 model had a two line display so not to sure what drove that design decision. A few more pixels please Alpine!

Leute, das ist kein Autoradio, DAS ist der absolute HAMMER! Ein Sound, einfach nur zum Niederknien und Anbeten. Viele Vorredner bzw. Rezessenten vor mir, hatten den gigantischen Sound und die Empfangsleistung des Tuners dieses Autoradios bereits hervorgehoben, was mich zum Kauf bewogen hatte. Ich bin sowas von begeistert - es ist einfach unglaublich! Zu diesem Megasound gesellen sich noch DAB+, MP3 Wiedergabe über (Front) USB Stick, CD Player, FM-Tuner, Bluetooth Freisprechmöglichkeit. Als wenn das noch nicht reichen würde... die Farbgebung von Display und Tastenbeleuchtung kann völlig individuell und unabhängig voneinander eingestellt werden. Also z.B. Tastenbeleuchtung Blau, Displayanzeige in Weiß. Die einzelnen Farbvarianten bzw. Farbkombinationen sind enorm. Wer ein TOP Radio sucht, hat hier sein Ziel erreicht - für mich die totale Kaufempfehlung

autoradio top di gamma avete tutto , anche vivavoce telefono , digitale terrestre per stazioni radio e tante altre opzioni , certo va abbinata con casse di qualità... io ho messo nella mia vw scirocco woofer tweeter di qualità e un bel subwoofer e tutto suona perfettamente.. si sente davvero la qualità alpine... anche a basso volume il suono lo percepisco limpido pulito una meraviglia... ecco il mio consiglio è sempre di abbinare l autoradio a delle casse buone non badate a spese... risolto il problema dell' MP3 cioè praticamente non potete mettere l attacco che va nel vano portaoggetti quindi ho messo una micro USB così non da fastidio quando smanovrate l autoradio.. super consigliato top top top

Que demander de plus la réputation de alpine n'ai plus à faire.

Alpine, grandísima marca en Car-Audio nunca defrauda. Este modelo cuenta con infinidad de ajuste. Un 10!

Ich habe gestern das Alpine CDE-196DAB in meinen 30 Jahre alten Audi 90 verbaut und mir blieb wirklich "die Spucke weg" ! Was dieses Radio aus meinen alten Boxen raus holt ist der Hammer. Die Bedienung ist sehr strukturiert und sowohl der DAB-, wie auch FM-Empfang ist erstaunlich gut. Ohne die Bedienungsanleitung auswendig zu lernen konnte ich problemlos mein Handy anlernen, was in neueren Fahrzeugen nicht immer gelingt.
