Matrix Styling Controller Gel – Strong Hold For All Hair, 6.8 Fl Oz

My stylist uses this so I bought it for home. Works great.

My hair stylist introduced me to this gel. My hair is thick and has a lot of body, so it gets crazy-looking very quickly. Just a small dab of this Controller Gel really does keep it under control all day!!

Works so well to hold the style you want. The hold lasts. Yet there’s no sticky feeling after the brush out!! And it doesn’t weigh down your hair!!

I was disappointed when I found out Matrix discontinued their Vavoom Hold My Body hair gel. It was my favorite gel because it worked great with damp hair while leaving a flexible hold that also moisturized. Scalpers on Ebay are selling the remaining bottles for over $100 ea which is crazy. I tried several other gels from different brands and none of them worked like the Vavoom did. None of them liked being applied to damp hair, all the other gels didn't want to mix with water and also felt like my hair wasn't being moisturized. Matrix has a 'Discontinued Products' web page with recommended replacements but it doesn't list the Vavoom. I had to do a lot of research online to find out that the Matrix 'Controller Gel' is basically the closest replacement. And YES it is! Finally exactly what I was looking for! It works just like the Vavoom Hold My Body did and has a really nice scent. It DOES seem to have a slightly stronger hold than the Vavoom did. I really want to give it 5-stars because this gel is exactly what I wanted, but I'm giving it 4-stars because it's expensive for the amount of gel you get. You get less than half (6.8oz vs 16.9oz) the gel than the Vavoom and it costs more. At least with the Vavoom is you spent $20 you got a big bottle that would last a long time. I would be happy if they offered a bigger bottle for a better value. This is a high quality hair gel, but it's expensive for the price.

I love this product. It works styles and holds all day long.

Nice soft hold. I have fair skin and grey hair. I have been looking for a product to enhance natural curl but this has not worked as I had hoped.
