High quality and lots of features at a good price
This is a well built, versatile bench-top drill press with a host of good features. I bought it for the size, motor HP, 1/2" chuck, and laser alignment. It has five motor speeds which are selected by moving the drive belt to different pulleys. The laser alignment works perfectly. The table tilts up to 45 degrees, though you need a wrench to make adjustments. The table also swivels around the main post. When mine arrived, the plastic collar holding the drill depth stop was broken. I registered with Skil online (that gets you a three-year warranty) and called them to ask for the part. They sent it out right away, free of charge, and it arrived in less than a week.

Great value for the price
I bought this during Amazon's Spring Sale for $150. It's a good value for the money, it's a good, strong drill press. I like the sturdiness and variable speeds. It was easy to assemble, only taking about 15 minutes. Size is great as well, not too small but also doesn't take up a bunch of wasted space in my garage shop. Drills accurate and the motor provides plenty of power. The only small con I will say is that the support plate does wiggle a little on rack, but once a workpiece is held on there, that isn't much of an issue.

Love it
Wish I had bought sooner. I don’t have the space or the money for a big ol’ Powermatic, this will have to do for now. Set up was easy. The table wanders all over during adjustment, so the laser is handy for lining that back up if for nothing else. Laser was way off when I got it, but nudging the little doohickey with my thumb brought it back. I get a touch of travel out of the chuck, it wobbles slightly left. Also, when I power down something in the motor sounds a playing card in your bike spokes. Those things would tick me off in 1600 dollar machine, for this price you have to expect a little funkiness I figure. If it blows up I’ll come back and update. Incidentally, the way I dial in the laser is to mount a bradpoint or forstner, poke a little hole in some clamped scrap wood and mess with the laser until it lines up. I have to do this every couple of weeks or so, it doesn’t wander too far. UPDATE a year later: The press still works great; the only thing I have noticed is that in addition to a slight wobble left, when I bring the press all the way down, the bit ticks off to the left about a 1/16 of an inch. This would be horrible for accuracy, but at that point the bit is usually buried in the piece and the hole keeps it in line. Also, I added the Rockler drill press table, which is meant for full size drill presses and doesn’t really work with this one, but I got it to fit with some diy adjustments. The down side is that the table blocks the use of the adjustment crank, so I have to use a wrench to adjust the table up or down. Also I can’t use the vacuum port. Other than that it’s a nice addition for repeat cuts.

nice and budget friendly
i would not call this top quality, it doesn't feel like the components are that beefy.. but it does the job and seems to drill through steel on the slowest setting with no problem... a bit of vibration until you make contact , then it drills true and does a decent job . good enough for a tinkerer like me... light and laser were spot on for me and assembly went smoothly. it's also fairly quiet and smooth.... again aside from a slight wobble when free spinning .

Skil Tabletop Drill Press
First let me say that the reviewers that say there's wobbling when operating the press did something incorrectly when putting this unit together. This thing is rock solid and smooth. I am very impressed. I've used standing units that aren't this nice. The only design flaw that I can see is the way the laser adjustment works. It's a little tricky and because it's a set screw, I'm sure that it will have to be adjusted periodically. For the price point this is an awesome unit. Clear win for Skil. I'm also going to put in a lever screw to adjust the table tilt so I don't have to use a wrench. All in all an A+.

Efficient and Versatile Tool
This product offers great convenience with its stability on the table and versatile functionality. While it excels in various tasks, some users may find adjusting the rotation speed a bit challenging.

Decent drill press for price with Dangerous design flaw
The power safety key is flawed. If you have the yellow key pulled out of the power switch, and then plug in the drill press while the switch was switched to ON, the drill still runs. This is a stupid design as I didn’t realize I had switched the toggle switch onto ON position when I removed the key. This is extremely dangerous. The drill press is fine otherwise, though vibration levels are pretty annoying. It requires considerable tuning to improve.

Great little drill press.
I am a hobbyist, not a professional woodworker. I would absolutely recommend this drill press to anyone in a similar situation. Easy to assemble, dead on accuracy (once you get the lasers dialed in), no wobble (once you bolt it down). So far, I’ve used it for softwoods, hardwoods, aluminum, and mild steel. It absolutely meets my needs. 10/10 would recommend.
