Did awsome on a trip to europe.
Carried through London, Paris and Spain. Gallons of water bottles and other things for my family.

Very roomy, without being too bulky
I am very pleased with this backpack! Its capacity is impressive, allowing me to carry all of my travel essentials with ease. The low-key style is perfect for everyday use and it's versatile enough to take it to different activities. I love how it has multiple pockets, which helps me to organize my items for one-bag travel trips. The only downside I've found is that the material attracts a lot of lint, but it's a small inconvenience compared to all the benefits it offers. Overall, I highly recommend this backpack for anyone in need of a reliable and functional bag.

This Bag is Massive!
Definitely not an EDC type of bag, but perfect as a bug out bag. It's so well executed that I don't even know where to begin! One of my favorite features is the molded base that allows it to stand upright when it's fully loaded. I know it might sound silly, but the reason i used an old sturdy Camera bag was for the same functionality. The bag is also pretty sleek looking. It doesn't scream out tacticool larper, burt instead looks subdued. As a result it tends to blend in well with most urban environments, even if it is a little on the huge side. The hidden Molle panel is another great idea. You can actually roll the cover down and leave the Molle panel exposed if your needs require. Otherwise you can keep your IFAK, EDC Tools, and other supplies hidden yet quickly available. Now that I think about it, the Basecamp seems to built around the idea of concealment, and accessibility. It has a hidden concealed carry compartment for your off body carry needs, as well as a rapid access tab to quickly access any one of the many zippered compartments. The hidden handle on the front really makes grabbing the bag from different angle easier, and the hook and loop lining throughout means you can really optimize the space by using some of Vertx's molle panels, or any other hook and loop attachments you can think of.This is a solid choice if you need a large customizable bag for travel, camping, or emergency preparedness.

This is a city EDC type of tactical backpack.
Well made tactical backpack. The bag conceals everything. Made to be discreet, instead of having all your MOLLE accessories out in the open. The laptop pad is adjustable with velcro. Most of the interior is designed for velcro accessories, also available for purchase.Having everything concealed will limit the amount you can carry, but that would be the point of being discreet.I also like having the ability to add ballistic panels. This backpack will take some time to grow into.I did struggle with unzipping the back panel, due to the weather guard. That will take adjusting too, but the trade off is that it keeps the rain out.Overall a great backpack.

It could have been the perfect backpack...
Just received it. Bought it as an upgrade to my Gamut 2.0. Definitely a LARGE backpack. Pretty roomy, it will fit all of your basic gear and will ask for more. The main compartment is spacious enough and fits up to 4 small overflow mesh pouches. Good overall quality and nice color choice, typical for Vertx. A main improvement is the size of the top zippered compartment which now easily fits two goggle cases. However, I must say I was disappointed to see that the two side water bottle pockets are still made of the old thin and soft fabric. It was different enough on the second gen packs like Gamut 2.0 and it felt as a weak point, but on such next gen pack it just feels wrong. In my opinion, it does not fit with the rest of the material neither functionally nor aesthetically. While the rest of the backpack seems to be literally indestructible, I think these pockets will not be resilient enough if there is a water bottle in them or another solid item and it rubs against a hard surface, for example in the trunk of a car or against a rock. Another thing that bothered me was that there is only one side zippered pocket which just makes no sense to me. In my opinion, the main advantage of Vertx packs over other high-end brands has always been the option to organize smaller items in the multiple pockets available. I think that having only one side pocket for smaller items on Basecamp, which is also pretty shallow, compared to the overall length of the back pack has reduced its convenience by a lot...

This is an amazing pack!!
Still in the early stages, but lots to love about this pack after a few long runs. It sits really comfortably on my back and the size is a great balance between fitting enough for a long adventure and not weighing yourself down.

Designed without thought?
I love my vertx transit. Also I have one of their sling bags. Also a host of accessories. This is the first bag—or any product from them now that I think about it—that dissapointed. The pros: it looks good, and it’s well made. Probably great who carry a ton of files? The meh: the size is just dumb. Way too big for a commuter way too small for a weekender. The cons: it goes back to the design, but what was the imagined use case for this? It’s design does not lend itself to outdoor use. It’s not nearly sturdy enough or vented enough. The pockets seem poorly laid out one is nearly impossible to get to easily or quickly. Internal organization is minimal at best. For hiking I will reach for an osprey or Patagonia bag every time. And as I mentioned unless your idea of a weekend is just underwear and a tooth brush you’re not fitting much. It says 30L but the way the pockets are arrayed and divided feels like 15-20L. The first time I used it hiking I switched my stuff out of my osprey. (There’s no hydration pocket btw.) it was a fishers hatchet, a knife, leatherman, bear spray, water, snacks, a book, and G20 bear defense with 45 lil 10mm defenders. It rode heavy. It vented poorly. And I ended up hurtin my leg bad. This is a hike with 1500ft elevation I do weekly. Maybe it’s a coincidence I messed up my leg this one time, but I’m not so sure. Also water bottle pocket is garbage. Also can anyone tell me what that second picture pocket is for? It opens up with Velcro only from the bottom of inside one of the front pockets. My only use I can imagine is contraband. But I’m thinkin I’m missing something?
