As good as the best
Excellent quality illuminator far exceeding its price point. It has a smooth zoom with a range of approximately 4 to 20 deg. that produces a clean, well-defined spot without any artifacts and a usable range of about 450 meters. Having only one power setting, it can be a bit too bright at 3 meters or less depending on the type of NV being used. Its only real downside is that it has a reverse clicky switch. Quality isn't refined as a top-end lights but appears comparable to mid-range commercial quality lights. Haven't used the tape switch so I can't comment on it, but unlike what some others have experienced I find the mount holds the light securely.

Almost Perfect!
Added it to my night vision monocular to get a clearer picture at a longer distance. Works great! The only thing I donโt like is you canโt tell if itโs on or off without viewing through monocular.

I donโt like the switch
The light does what it is supposed to do. The cable for the momentary switch is too big and gets caught on everything. It would be better if the cable was straight only. So I use the end cap push button, which isnโt as convenient

An ok light with some shortcomings.
There isn't a lot of important information online about this light so I'll try to add some. 1. Battery Size: 18650. Comes with a 3400mAh. I have not tested the battery to see if the mAh is accurate. 2. Picatinny Rail Mount: Not good. I tightened down the screws all the way and it still slipped when pulling on the Zoom adjuster. Additionally, because of the size and placement of the screw for tightening down the rail, this mount won't attach to the Sightmark Wraith. You can use the Sightmark mount to attach this flashlight. 3. Remote switch. Not great. There are 4 unlabeled buttons. The prominent one is an on-and-off switch. The other three you hold down to keep the light on and when you release it, the light is off. There is no point to this feature on a UV light. Normally these buttons would be wired to adjust the intensity of the light, but this light doesn't have those features. This is a generic remote switch I've seen on other lights. I'd expect a little more for this price. 4. What this light doesn't come with, but would be very useful, is a regular switch! This light only has the remote switch. 5. Light settings: Just on and off. I would at least hope for a hi/lo setting for this price point. 6. The good side: this is a pretty bright light. I don't have other 950nm lights, but I'll compare it to the Odepro 850nm and the standard sight wraith 850nm later. I currently don't have enough information to contrast it with other 950 lights. That being said, it easily lights 100m away.

Not as Described
Tested and its not as powerful as described. Compared it to my 850 and its not even that powerful. Used new batteries and same results.

Best bang for the buck.
This IR illuminator works really well for the price.

Illumi-nation!
I have a Sightmark Wraith HD 4-32x50 Digital night vision scope used for beanfield hog hunting. Unlike true night vision like a PVS-14, the Wraith relies on external infrared light when there no moon/ambient light. The PVS-14 has an intensifier tube so the need for light is much less than with the Wraith. It's also "Oh my God" expensive! The Wraith is around $500. That's why I have digital night vision. I can afford that. If the moon/ambient light isn't enough, you will need a IR illuminator like this unit. Sightmark has an IR illuminator that is quite large and throws a wide light. I was looking for a more powerful light with more focus, but not a spot. With light I can see out past 300 yards but it drops off rather sharply after that. I'm not sure if it's the light or the scope that accounts for it. The scope has an on/off switch built into the body of the light. It comes with a paddle switch, a charger and a light mount for your rifle. The battery only last about three hours. I use an external USB power pack ranger banded to the scope. It powers both the light and the scope so I get about 10 hours each. More, the less I use the light. On even a cloudy moon lit night, the light isn't that necessary. On a night with out a moon or heavy cloud cover, the IR light is a necessary item. Important: If you don't have some type of night vision wont do you any good. You need night vision.
