3 in 1 Wooden Board Game Set Compendium Travel Games Chess Backgammon Draughts

I was purely looking for a fair sized, well made, good looking folding Chess and Backgammon board. This is a cheap, mass produced product, but had good reviews so I gave it a chanceI cannot be more pleased with my purchase.The pieces are cheaply mass produced and show it. Whatever turned them 'does round like a potato' as the saying goes, being more oval than round and this is much more noticeable on the plain Draughts pieces. The pieces are also very light, having no extra weight added. That being said they are easily distinguished and unlike some more expensive sets, the piece's size clearly corresponds with their importance, from King down to Pawn. Since I was only really interested in the board, none of that bothered me, but if I hadn't intended on buying a more expensive set of pieces, I wouldn't have been too disappointed with any of their bad points.The board is also cheaply made, but for the price is actually very well manufactured and robust. More importantly, it is almost perfect when closed and lines up very nicely when opened. The inside has been very lightly finished, but I'm not convinced that the chequered playing surface has at all. Having very nice grain showing in the vast majority of squares, it would be greatly enhanced and could easily be made to look much finer (and expensive) by being finished and am undecided whether to use a clear stain, to varnish, or perhaps both. Again, I was only interested in the board when I made this purchase. It was both cheap enough and looked good enough to warrant a chance and I'm glad I took it. It looks much better than some of the more expensive boards I've seen and I definitely will not be looking any further.Perfect as a full set for the beginner or as a replacement board for the average player and above with their own pieces.

Love the fact that you can store the pieces inside the wooden folding games board/case, which is nice quality for the price. The chess pieces are better quality than the drafts, which are quite cheaply moulded plastic, but a reasonable size and perfectly functional. Disappointed as no game instructions inside or on the box, which I thought the description said there would be - but I can look up the rules on the internet if we have any disputes!

My kids got interested to learn Chess, Checkers and Backgammon, this board made it. Yes quality is not the best but it is fine by the price you pay. The wood is well sanded so no risk for splinters in our case, no defects on the Chess pieces which have enough details. The dice quality is good and seem balanced (i.e. no same number all the time). The pieces seem to be long lasting and recyclable which is also good for the environment. I wish the backgammon board colours were a bit more clear and distinguishable as brown tones are almost the same. Very light weighted but if you are taking it for travel could be a bulky for a backpack or even your small luggage. Eventually you can fill the box with some socks or small items to make use of the space inside ;)

Great quality! Not too small to play..

This item is perfect and comes in a nice box however it does not originally ship in Amazon Packaging therefore they slap a label onto the product box which was a shame at Christmas however the actual board is fantastic really. Nothing wrong with it

Good value and very pleased

For this price it’s of the same quality as other sets priced closer to £30, so I was positively surprised. It also comes with instructions for the games inside, which can be useful if you play with someone who hasn’t played checkers before for example!It’s a simple set but the quality is satisfactory if you plan to play only occasionally with guests. Really happy with purchase!
