I'm not sure who would certify this. It has no calibration certificate but the measurements and increments are correct. It is a copy of the g.a.l. guage.

Should the tip/arrow fall downwards when the screw isnt tightened? On mine, if I place the gauge on a flat surface and loosen the screw tip goes up.

I have other pit gauges. This one as well as the others require the operator (you) to push the point to the point being inspected, whether it is the weld cap or pit. Hope this helps.
