Mellow After One Month
Great cider brew after 1 month of fermentation. I would not recommend drinking sooner. After 1 month it's a very mellow brew. Excellent yeast.

Must have for Mead
Used this to make a clone of Superstition Meadery Marion. The yeast has been reacting perfectly. Definitely will be the go to yeast for meads moving forward.

Great cider yeast.
I make a lot of cider, usually over a thousand litres annually. This is my go to yeast as most of my apples are eating apples with a fair portion of Bramley cooking apples mixed in. This gives the juice a higher than optimal pH. This yeast helps reduce the acidity, it has always fermented well and seeyto continue working in colder than perfect conditions, given that it does slow it's activity during colder months, but it doesn't stop until finished.

Best for fruit mead/melomel!
Still got a great expiry date! Great price for how much you get. Lalvin 71B is known to be the best for fruit mead or melomel. I've made a lot of sour tart cherry melomel with 71B with fantastic results compared to other yeasts. It'll go up to 14% ABV which is strong enough to make it worth brewing and low enough for it to be drinkable!

71"Beast" is exactly what they are!
Bought this strain of yeast after watching a youtube channel on homebrewing (City Steading Brews), as I had originally been using EC1118, and fancied giving another yeast a try. Let me say that in my particular environment, with the brew I have been doing they have been MORE than effective. Using this yeast I had my first blowout of an airlock, and actually had to switch to a blowoff tube. They started fermenting almost twice as fast as EC1118.

Great yeast choice for home brewing.
The Lalvin 71B wine yeast (10‑pack) is a reliable and versatile option for making wine, cider, or mead. It ferments cleanly and is known for enhancing fruity aromas while helping reduce acidity, which can really improve the final flavor. Each packet is easy to use and consistent in performance. Overall, a high‑quality yeast that delivers dependable results—perfect for both beginners and experienced home brewers.
